Ellis Says Doctor's Visit Went Well

Just got back from the Cowboys' annual Kickoff Luncheon, which supports the children living in the Dallas Cowboys Courage House at Happy Hill Farm. Greg Ellis arrived with the team, having returned from Birmingham, Ala., and said his visit with renowned orthopedic specialist Dr. James Andrews went well.

The Cowboys still consider Ellis (sore heel) day-to-day as he tries to return from last year's Achilles' injury, but sent him to Dr. Andrews for a second opinion.

"It went good," Ellis said. "And I hadn't talked to Jim (Maurer, the Cowboys' head trainer) when I got back here to hear what they had to say about it. But it was a visit and they looked at it, looked at some MRI and then said the healing is going good."

Ellis said he hasn't ruled out playing in the Sept. 9 season opener against the Giants. He said the next step is to speak with the Cowboys' training staff about the visit.

Hello Boys & Girls.

Im in 3 fantacy Football leagues this yr.

My 1st draft went 75-25 good. There is 16 people in this league. I drafted 9th.

Here's my 1st team. WHAT DO U THINK. By the way this is a 2 keeper league.

Quarterback's & The reason why.

Philip Rivers   >   Norv Turner

Donovan McNabb  >  I think he has something 2 prove.

Kellen Clemons > Chad Pennington will loss the starting job.

Tony Romo was a keeper on another team.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Running Backs & The reason why.

Marion Barber > Let Julius run between the 10s.

Just give the ball 2 Marion from 10 in.

Travis Henry > Most of us can gain 1400 in that offence.

DeShaun Foster > 4 the bi-wk. Still has life.

Mike Bell > I had 2 tk 4 RBs. & he is Travis's back up.

some1 drafted Julius b4 i could get 2 him in the 5th round.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wide Receivers & The reason why.

Marvin Harrison > Peyton's fav target.

Terry Glenn > Hes still faster then Terrell.

Michael Jenkins > Joey Harrington mite throw his way from x to x.

Robert Meachem > I had 2 tk 4 receivers. & He was pretty good at Tenn.

I took Harrison over Owens. It hurt, but I guess I'll see what happens.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tight Ends

I kept Jason Whitten > Romo looks 4 him alot.

Dallas Clark > Peyton look 4 him alot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Defence

Philadelphia & Pittsburgh > Some 1 took Dallas in a round b4 me.

1 Spot b4 me. Did I give him the EVIL EYE.

They both are listed in the top 10 in defence.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kickers

Josh Brown - Seattle  & Orlindo Mare - New Orleans.

Same Reson - Both are in the top 10

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There it is. What do you think.

Dont hold any punches. As if you would anyway.

and Remember, HBTCB stands 4 How Bout Them Cow Boys!!!!!!!!!!!

Carpenter was a bobble head draft pick in the 1st round.

Dallas could hv gotten him in the 3rd round ez.

Remember, he was coming off an injury pleaged season at Ohio State.

So, Ellis is still day to day.  The good news is that he is not expected to be out for a long period of time.  Can he start opening game, if not can we beat the Giants without him.

That's nice to hear that Ellis' prognosis is better. I believe he can make more of an impact in that 3-4 than Anthony Spencer can.

Oh, yeah, Okie, we can crush the Giants without him. It would still be nice to have ol' #98 out there on the field though.

I think we can put Ellis on the p.u.p. list and get him totally healthy for a stretch run, I think we can get him back in week 7. Carp. might have been a bad pick, well not "bad" but we could have done better. I do believe he will make more of an impact this year than some think...but thats just me. I am hoping for an 11 win season and a home playoff game.

Right Flex!  No new injuries are key.  I don't think Eli is ready for the pressure we are about to bring!   I do worry just a tad about out run D...just a tad!

Ohio, Ellis can't be put on pup because he practiced one day.  We will get him back at some point.  Returning now would be considered miraculous for an achilles anyway.

Newman is definitely the bigger concern.  That injury could linger all season!

Carpenter is not a bust. Maybe if they give the guy one spot and elave him there we can get a better handle on what he can do. I guess you would have called Aikman a bust after hsi first year.

Not every player, not even first rounders or top ten picks, play like they "should" the first year.

I guarantee if Carpenter becomes a stand out, the talk on here will be how you guys all knew it and he just needed time.

Now that I think about it. That WIlliams had better turn it around this year. how many times did he get burned last year. Big hitter, can't cover.......he's a bust.....

Oh wait you say we need to use him better hmmmmm......can you say hypocrisy?

You guys need to cut Ellis some slack from the injury standpoint. (I am tired of his whining about the contract issues) An achilles tendon rupture is a devastating injury for an elite athlete. It takes at least one year to be able to push off and plant with any sort of explosiveness. Newman's injury will definitely be more of a factor than Ellis'. He would have less pain if he went ahead and had a complete tear of the plantar fascia instead of the partial tear. Regarding next year's draft: RB, CB, WR and LB

Of course he is not a Bust he is the only one WP feels confident enough to play more than one position and to play in place of Ellis if he gets hurt.

Carp of course will have to play a position D and hold his own, he will not be stunting alot since he has been moved around so much.

However, he can be come a roaming LB when they put Spencer in certain situations.

The ole Carp can play spy and maybe get a pick from ole ELI
