Revamped DallasCowboys.com

First, I'd like to thank you all for making DallasCowboys.com the top online destination for Cowboys fans.  Your dedication and input have allowed us to grow the site while ensuring that it meets the needs and desires of our fan base.

As you may have noticed, we published a revamped home page this morning.  Some of the new features include a scrolling news ticker with NFL news from all 31 of the other team websites.  We also feature content from each week's opponent in the Gameday area located in the bottom right portion of the home page.

We hope these changes make your experience on DallasCowboys.com easier and provides a more comprehensive array of news that affects the Cowboys.

Please feel free to provide feedback anytime to help us continue to bring you the very best online experience.  Thanks again for your support.

I honestly think it would help the site if T.O. would stop dropping passes.

Wow, that comment had nothing to do with this topic. Anyways, the site looks great, nice job on it.

Looks good to me. The only thing I don't like is the Blog setup. As much as I dislike the Eagles their MB is much better and more organized than ours.

I especially like the small tracker for NFL news.  If anyone would like to do so, check out all the other nfl team web sites, Dallascowboys.com is by FAR the best.  Of course, i am more used to navigating it, but it's more than superior.  The beagles web site sux totally in my opinion.

Site look great.  It would be nice to update the screen saver with more vidoes, player bios, cheerleader bios, The standings (last years still), etc....,  Also, how about player interview videos, other teams are doing it.

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

I like being able to post things on the blog but this website as a whole sucks. It is a lot like the Raiders website (which used to also have a blog for fan comments), with articles by a bunch of "yes-men" like Mick towing the company line. They run this website like a small Communist country. I don't expect this blog to be around much longer. Thanks

I would like to know how much the revamped website cost???

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Oh gee, like the anti Bledsoe crowd stuck to the appropriate blogs. Company line? Our you blind. Where were you when Mic critcized the Offensive line or the secondary or the front four? Maybe he doesn;t spew out venom filled comments or called people by juvenile nicknames (Bledslow), but he criticizes when appropriate. Actually, I know where you probablty were, you were to busy calling the criticism of the o line an excuse for Bledsoe. I remember one commetn on the forum as asking for Mick to STOP HARPING ON THE O LINE>....gee what a line tower.

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

The biggest problem with this team on both sides of the ball is coaching, and Mick is never critical about Parcells. Never ever. Not when he was hellbent on playing Testaverde when nobody, and I mean nobody, agreed that he gave us "the best chance to win." Not when he got rid of some good players from the Dave Campo era like Joey Galloway, who is still better today than anyone else that's played receiver since then besides T.O. Not when Parcells built a team of rejects and retreads from his Jets and Patriots days (none of whom ever got a ring with Parcells). Not when he let Emmitt Smith go in favor of Troy Hambrick. There are plenty more examples. Yes, Mic critizes the o-line and secondary for their poor play. But he should also be critical of the coaches for not holding those players accountable for their errors. So let's not make believe that Mick "criticizes when appropriate."

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Another thing about this blog...Mick should not be allowed to continue to log in with fake names like redbaron46750 just to make it look like people agree with him.

Thursday, November 09, 2006 11:47 PM by Beercelo

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Mick couldn't even criticize Parcells when he shoved some hapless assistant coach last year during a game! Everyone saw that! No one on this website cared!

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

That's absolutely false.  Nick Eatman and I both ranted for about 20 minutes on The Lunch Break the day after that game about how the head coach was completely out of line and should receive the same sort of punishment that players receive when they cross the line.  You can never make the claim that no one on this site is critical.  On just about every issue, there is at least one person who is critical as is the case when you have a group of diverse people contributing to the content (Mickey, Brad Sham, Nick Eatman, Rob Phillips, or me).

This is one of the best NFL websites; if not the best!  Look around!  We have excellent coverage of the Boys through this site.  I have read and listened to broadcasts where the staff has been critcal of the team.  Excellent coverage during training camp and the draft as well.  Now, if we could just get some PLAYOFF COVERAGE!!!

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Just logged-in this morning and noticed the changes.

Very Nice.

I honestly think we have the best team website in the NFL. The awards received the past few years prove that. Keep up th good work and thanks for listening to the POSITIVE suggestions made by the members.

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Did All of the fonts on the home page get smaller?

I love to read the website every morning. It's got great content, so the new fonts are my only criticism.

For some of us that started following the Cowboys back in the days of Meradith and then  Staubach, the eyes don't read the home page like they used too. I didn't even need glasses back when staubach was QB. The first thing I noticed today was how small the fonts are.

Other than that, I think the changes are great.

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

Wish that they would make the rss for the media like (Talking Cowboys, etc...) work with iTunes so it would download it for me automatically but otherwise the site looks better now.

Friday, November 10, 2006 10:40 AM by rweiser

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

We are investigating the automatic download for multimedia content.  Most likely, we won't have a solution for that until next season.

Regarding the font, it is a little bit smaller, but not much.  We do still have the feature on the news page that allows you to control the font size when reading articles.  We thought the black font on a white background would allow the text to be easily read even if it were a tad bit smaller.

Like the new design!  The only thing I noticed was that the bar with NFL news was overlapping the border on my screen running at 1024 x 768.  Keep the news coming!

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

I like the new site, but I gotta tell you guys, I'm having ahard time keeping up with all this new fangled technology. As soon as I get something figured out, some smartaleck changes it. Technology, get on board, or get ran over.

Good job, deagleton.  You got a big mouth to shut their pie-hole.  Wish we could flip a switch and do that from our home PC's.  It's always the same few obnoxious morons.  Or are they all Quincy Carter using different aliases.  Yeah, that must be it.

The new site will take some getting used to. I for one liked the pictures next to everyones blogs. Where did they go? Also the font is smaller so I will have to finally admit to myself that I need new glasses. It sucks to get old. Anyway we need to bring the two "F's" to Arizona this Sunday. The two "F's" you ask?...They are FOCUS & FIRE!

the new site looks fine to me.  i especially like the ticker on the bottom that gives you nes about other teams.  can we get rid of the emmit smith dancing updates?  is that show almost over?

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

"Redbaron" is such an idiot-knucklehead - is there some way that this blog can filter-out idiot-knuckleheads? The guys is still sore because Tony Romo is making Bledsoe look as bad as Bledsoe is. Can you believe such an idiot-knucklehead? Wouldn't you have expected him to be hiding his knucklehead in shame and embarrassment by now?

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

I'm on hear and listen to every show everyday, the website is great, I dont visit other sites so I really have nothing to compare it to, but I find it keeps me well informed. As far as the critics or lack there of, I find most of you guys derick, nick, especially, speak your mind, as for Mic he's always right, its like his opinion is law, and his side kick Bill is like his puppet, do they ever disagree?

After the Cowboys win the next four games and they are ist in the division and 2nd overall through 12 games then i will say they are revamped until then we are stuck at 4-4 and on pace to win 8 games.

# re: Revamped DallasCowboys.com

When are ya'll going to start paying more attention to the fan forum???  There are MANY who would like to have a General Discussion forum added.  The Cowboys are one of the few teams in the NFL who do not provide a General Discussion forum for their fans.  Why can't we get one???  Also, why does the site go down after big games (New York; Carolina)???  The fan forum has grown exponentially since it was first created, could a server upgrade be in the works???
