Movie [~] The Official Movie Thread

    Locked Reply Contact
Here's the official movie discussion thread, I will post my entire 232 DVD collection here later for others to peruse.  Let me start things off by saying my favourite movies of all-time are the 6 Star Wars films.  The latest DVD I've acquired is Batman Returns.

Was never really a movie buff but I have to say the original 3 Star Wars films were much better than the more recent 3. Just something about all the computer animation that made the movies look and feel too cartoony. With the puppets and old ways of special effects, I think it looked more realistic and was more fun to watch. Just my two cents :P
"All offenses are vertical. What system do you know tries to score by throwing or running horizontally - as in toward the sidelines? I might call an out route but I still want my guy going vertical once he catches it." - Bill Walsh, on his west coast offense.

I just like the new ones as well because of the faster swordfighting and Natalie Portman.  I don't think there will be a VII-IX, the Star Wars films are the autobiography of Anakin Skywalker and he's dead, so it's over.

Wow, right up my alley! You are right, it is over, until the T,V. series comes out,. Surely you have heard Lucas is working on that.

Wow, movies. How do even get started on this. We have over 1,000 DVD's. Tough to list them all, but if anyone has a request. let me know.

Of course, the original SW trilogy are in my top 15 list, as well as the Indiana Jones trilogy, especially Raiders of the Lost Ark. My next alltime favorite would probably be Jeremiah Johnson. I love Jaws, Forest Gump, Scarface, Heat, the Deerhunter, the list goes on, but I am definately a movie buff. Haven't been to the show for quite awhile. I believe the last one I went and saw was Jackass 2, which I also now own on DVD. The wife goes about once a week though.

"I have been a hardcore fan of this team since 1976. I know the game and I know talent and believe me, this kid is going to be something special!" - Me to my wife about Tony Romo after the MNF Giants debacle.

I WOULD except I heard it's in Spanish so I think I'll pass, I've been around the language for 20 years and I'm still nowhere near fluent in it.

Yea. I hear ya. I used to hate foreign language movies until I decided to major in film production. Now that's pretty much all I've been watching for the better part of a year. If you don't mind reading subtitles, then it's an enjoyable two hours. If not, then I guess you could wait for a dubbed version of the film when it comes out on DVD.

I love movies too but I prefer to watch them in English.  I do make exceptions for martial arts films, hard to beat a movie with good hand-to-hand combat.

Wolverine.... You should check out  Brotherhood of the Wolf. It is a french film, but the English dubb is pretty good.

Great story line, awesome fight scenes, and Monica Baluchi.

Wolvie....before you buy any more seasons of MASH, I wanted to tell you that a boxed set has been released for the entire series. It also contains the MASH movie, as well as a script for an episode that was never filmed. If I didn't already have the entire series on DVD I would've bought it myself.
