I hope he is able to stay on with the Cowboys as well.  But if he is going to be released I hope he doesn't get picked up by anyone in the division.  That sort of thing has a funny way of coming back to haunt teams for a few years.  Guys often get released and it revives their career.

Ellis won't come back and haunt anyone. He'll be a solid backup by midseason, but no way he's coming back at the beginning of the season like he did last year. Spencer was a great addition.

I used to like surprises, then Jerry Jones came along.

Hey guys, I know this is a little of subject, but look at what I pulled up on Julius Jones in his draft prospect profile.

Negatives: Not really a self-motivated player and does not take well to hard coaching … Is just a little too lazy digesting the playbook … Has adequate power, but not enough to take on defenders one-on-one … Not mentally tough, letting minor injuries linger … Just used on screens, as he is a marginal route runner who looks late for the ball … Needs to protect the ball better and show better anticipation for contact … Will sometimes run up the back of the offensive lineman, but has enough pick-and-slide agility to gain yards inside … Prone to go down from the initial tackle, especially when defenders attack his feet … Has good foot quickness and change-of-direction agility, but is not sudden off cuts, gathering himself before accelerating.

I don't know where the releasing Ellis is coming from but if they do, he'll be a Redskin in a New York miniute.  Be just like Calvin Hill and Deion Sanders.
And if they release him, it better be for physical reasons and not because they picked another LB.  Ellis kept our number one pick inactive until he went down.
That is an extremely tough injury to come back from.  Marino said he's never been the same and he didn't have to push off or make rapid lateral shifts.  Kevin Smith's career was shortened because of the same injury.
It's really a shame, good player, better man.
The road to the Superbowl is full of potholes, speed traps and road rage.

That sounds like it was exactly on the money. 100% correct. Who wrote that?

Very well said.  Like I said I want to see Ellis finish his career with the Cowboys too.  In no way have I forgotten what he has done in a Cowboy uniform as I am sure many of us will never forget what he has done.

The positives are pretty much on the money too, except for the vision part. I think the patience waiting on his blockers isn't working as well in the NFL. By the time he finds the hole he's swarmed. Maybe Big Leonard can find some motivation and help out with that. Sure wish we had LA.

What team doesn't wish they had an LA.   The positives for Jones are true, but it looks like more and more his negatives are starting to shine.  Did you see the profile on Jackie Battle?  He has so many positives that it looks like whoever evaluated him was starting a novel.

Yeah, but those millions of dollars he has should help the pain some!
