To me Julius did his part in the two back system it's amazing to me how a 77 yard run could be demeaned so greatly For now I think Julius is the guy he's the man for the job untill Battle or someone else pairs up with Barber better I don't like the Spencer pick up cause I see the secondary as a greater need forgive me for being tramatized by Brees and ewww Santana Moss Maybe Ellis could have done the job maybe we could have done just as well in Free Agency or maybe Spencer compliments Ware better than anyone could but really I hope I 'm wrong cause I don't want to see another 4 TD game through the air against us

That I will agree with you on.  I really don't want to see another game like that.  All I will say is that the AFC has been dominant for the past 10 years.  So to keep in the AFC is alot harder than in the NFC.  Now, to get to where I was going with this, Wade Phillips was a defensive co-ordinator for a really good Chargers team last year.  This chargers defense did not have the talent there like we do on ours.  If Wade can get us to be on the same level as these AFC teams, call in a SB for the Cowboys.

Re: Final Thoughts on the 2007 NFL Draft:

Mickey: First of all, if there is, free agency still is going on, you know. Second, scouting director Jeff Ireland explained Wednesday on Talkin' Cowboys that a Ted Washington-sized nose tackle is not necessary nor preferred in Wade Phillips' style of a 3-4 defense. He wants big guys, no doubt, but he puts a premium on quick guys who can slant to one side of the center or the other, just like he'll be asking his defensive ends to do on the outside. Now this won't be every down, but Phillips evidently likes to attack and doesn't ask his nose tackle to be a two-gapper on every down. The irony of this is La'Roi Glover probably would have fit into this scheme. Oh well. And that's why the Cowboys seem to think Jay Ratliff and maybe even Jason Hatcher - 6-6, probably 300 by time this season begins - might be able to enter into a rotation with Jason Ferguson (310). And they haven't given up on Montavious Stanley

Very interesting read.  That does explain alot of why they did not draft a NT.  We got plenty that could play the way Wade would want them to.

Yeah, I agree.  I think one of the reasons why Wade was so willing to take this cowboys Head Coaching job is because 1. it's a promotion from his old job and he feels he can be effective as a head coach. 2.  It's in the NFC.  He's probably figured out that with the right personnel on Defense and the right coaching, he can be a star in the NFC, AND take this team to the SB.  Now I don't know about everyone else, but I'm down with that.

Now that'll be something sadly the NFC is in a downside since Elway's time came if the Cowboys can play to AFC standards we'll own our division

Perfect offseason: Barber stays and gets a long contract √

For the past 14 years, from 1994 through 2008, The U has had at least one player selected in the first round of the NFL draft, including 19 in 4 years a record unmatched by any other college or university.

At first i think i was as many DC Fans where saying WTF , more so after the trade with the crybaby Eagles , i personally could not beleive they traded with a division rivalary , then thank god Philly blew it and it turned out ok , Spencer is a great addition , he will be the starter by the BYE week if not before playing opposite Ware , the additions at OL after i researched them both appear to be very good pick's , betwen the 2 of them every position on the OL can be covered ( not to mention the F/A OG's the Boy's brought in after the draft - should make an interesting camp )  the FB should give the running game a bit of something missing the past few years..... and the 2 CB's drafted - by there college careers and stats should give the back up's a challenge for the roster and special teams......  I love the fact the Mr. Jones drafted a kicker , if for nothing else to show that the so called experts have no freakin clue as to what is gonna happen ( mickey included - who said it would be a cold day in hell before JJ drafts a kicker )  for any team let alone OUR COWBOY's........ the only question and doubt i have is about the QB / WR they drafted , i understand that on paper this kid looks great and very fast and athletic , but he still has not recovered from a foot injury and most likely will not be ready until training camp begins , if even then , and the fact that where he was picked and the other players still on the board at the time did not and still does not  makes sense to me , this kid at best was probally gonna be a 6th round pick....  and we wasted a 4th rounder on him ????????  just does not seem he is worth that kind of value , even more so since he is injured!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Final Thoughts on the 2007 NFL Draft:

i think Wade Phillips isnt the right coach for the boys, his constant lack of awareness and his personel choices in big games cost us (Reeves) against Ny in the playoffs.we could have beat New England in the SuperBowl and that critical drive down the strectch before half was all completed on Reeves and that was Wade's choice.   if Newman wasnt playing in the slot and Reeves was Ny would not have scored that very important touchdown.
