Was Lebrons game five performance the greatest in playoff history?

    It is what it is. I don't care that he is young. I don't care if he's not a legend. We are talking about 1 performance in a playoff game, and that was one of the all time great performances.

    The names you mentioned, certainly didn't score 29 of the last 30 team points. I am no Lebron apologist by any means, and barely watch him as a fan. However, I know what I saw last night, and it was "one" of the greats.


    Scoring is not the only way you can win a game for your team, it's just a lot easier to be glorified. It was a fantastic performance, and yes I'll say one of the greater ones we've seen in recent times...But lets not jump the kid's jock. I'd like to see if he can actually win the series for his team, then I'll start to say "all time".

    This is the best single game play-off performance I've heard of since Kobe used to drop 50 in the Finals.  I was more impressed by the way D-Wade sparked the Heat to a title last year though.  One spectacular game is nice but it will mean nothing if they can't build on it.

    It was a great game, and one of the best of all time. But not the best game in playoff history.

    But for the cast that he has he took over and showed why he is the next great NBA player.

    I'd rather have Dwyane Wade, that kid is a proven winner and he will sacrifice his body to win games.  Not to mention he is one of the more complete players in the NBA right now.

    In my history it was. Ive been watching hoops since 96' and I don't recall anyone ever doing what Lebron did.

    I'd rather have Dwyane Wade, that kid is a proven winner and he will sacrifice his body to win games.  Not to mention he is one of the more complete players in the NBA right now.

    Wade cost the Heat a chance of going all the way because of that injury. We'll see if he has chronic injuries throughout his career.

    I think that had a lot more to do with the fact that the entire team just didn't seem to care this year.  No way they were that much worse than the Baby Bulls.

    You have a valid point.  However, LeBron James is 3 years younger than Dwayne Wade.  So, if he keeps steadily improving his game, imagine what he will be like when he is Wade's age.

    What are you talking abut? Wade is more of a complete player than Lebron? I would venture to say that Lebron is the most complete player since Magic.

    LeBron hasn't been the player he should've been when he was drafted until this season but yes, he is definitely a top 5 player himself.

    James was only 18 years old when he was drafted, fresh out of highschool.  Of course it was going to take him some time to develop in the NBA.  Wade had 2 years of college experience before going into the big leagues.

    I would say it is arguably the best finish to a playoff game by an individual player, 48 points 28 of the last 30 points including all the points in both overtimes. But Jordan's 55 points against Cleveland to win the series including that shot over Craig Eloh to end the series is still my favorite playoff performance ever.

    At the half way point this season every one was saying this had been Lebrons worst season of his career. He has been money since the All Star Break though.

    So he caught fire this winter and he rolled right into the Finals?  Yeah that equals a great season to me.  Time will tell if the Cavaliers waste it or not.
