Well, regarding the naming...
I don't think it will be "whatever Field". I dont think the term "Field" will be used at all simply because it isn't a field. Most games will be played with the roof closed on articial turf. The dome will be closed to ward off the Texas heat, rain, etc. When I think of "Field", I think of a fixed open roof stadium.
It doesn't matter if the roof is open or closed, it's still a football "field"?!!! That huge rectangle where the team plays!
Its not a field to me. Its a glorified gymnasium....
Football should be played outside in the elements. That being said, I love the stadium open roof or not.

I agree, but it's a financial move as well, because Jerry couldn't get a Super Bowl without the retractable roof!

The seat pricing for the new stadium came out today:
http://www.dallascowboys.com/news.cfm?id=EE1C78DC-E46A-CE86-C23B280AE147A133
Looks like I'll go for section 407. It's almost exactly where my seats are at Texas Stadium, just a little higher up. I can't afford $2,000 a seat option prices. It's the atmosphere and all that that's the attraction. Hell, season tickets will actually be cheaper than the ones I have at Texas Stadium.
ALL RIGHT!!!

That is why the last Super Bowl there was the absolute worst weather that the Super Bowl has ever experienced. Rained from kickoff through the trophy presentation.
Also rained a little in Super Bowl XIII there.
Cowboys Super Bowl record: In Miami - 0-3, Everywhere else - 5-0.
Super Bowls in Miami SUCKS!!!

I wonder how NFL history would look if teams like "the greatest show on turf" never existed. The history would be slower, uglier. The domes have enabled the game of football to progress to the point it is at today, Spread the field with 5 receivers and get busy. With a natural elements history the NFL would be bigger on the run than it is today.

Here is a virtual map of the new stadium. If you click on a section, it will give you a computerized view of what the field will look like according to that section you have chosen.
That stated, out of all the non-club sections provided, which do you guys all believe would be the best to sit, given the opportunity?

Thats crap. I don't buy the whole, "faster on turf thing". And besides, every team plays on the same stuff now. Most teams have moved to the synthetic grass which is essentially rubber grass. Besides "THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF" benefitted from playing in the NFC WEST.
Its just a personal preference. I like outdoor stadiums better. The New Giants Stadium looks sweet. I wonder what there club level seating is going for?

So Marshall Faulk didn't have any advantages in a dome, on turf, over say, Rodger Craig. Who ran in the rain and mud half of the year? That's crazy.
Football in the rain, mud and snow was fun in pee wee and high school. But this is the NFL. Billions of dollars are at stake. Every team in the league should play under a roof. Nothing worse than watching a football game being played in a snow storm.
Aikman's gonna throw, deep slant. Caught, 35. HARPER'S BREAK'N AWAAAYYY! HARPER'S GOT MIDFIELD! HARPER'S GOT THE 40, HARPER'S GOT THE 30, HARPER'S GOT THE 20, HARPER'S GOT THE 10.......
The sound of a dynasty beginning.

You kidding me? Nothing's better than watching a game in a snow storm. Except when Leon Lett decides to recover a blocked field goal.
Let's just agree to disagree. I feel like football should be played in the elements and you feel football should be played in an air conditioned and controlled environment.

OK guys, I agree with both of your arguments. What I know is that the Cowboys have won 5 Championships while playing on artificial turf. We will continue to play on artificial turf for the forseeable future.
I wish we would play on real grass, like the old school, but we won't!
Go Cowboys!!
