possible draft picks: DT Sedrick Ellis and OT Sam Baker
OK, this guy really needs to be on our radar. This guy is already playing NT at USC. I am watching the USC Washington game and this guy is so man strong. He can really hold down the run. Here is a link to his page http://usctrojans.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/ellis_sedrick00.html They are saying he could be a top 5 pick which we will probably have. Also with the possibility of not re-signing Flozell Adams next year, OT Sam Baker could be a possibility. These are all great players and there is no reason why we could not consider them

Do you not realize that we got 2 of the top 7 rated offensive tackles in last years draft. Offensive line is not a need for us at all, and no way do we spend a high draft choice next year on the offensive line.

i don't think we will take an offensive lineman or dt that high in the draft. i think if we hang on to both our 1st rounders we will use on on defense and one on offense. cb looks to be a position where we could use some depth. and julius will probably be gone so we will get a rb. wr is also an option. i think we have good talent at ot that we would need to give a shot before we took one that high. and a dt we have tank coming back. so if he pans out i could see us taking one a little later in the draft for some more depth but not first two rounds.

i say we go with a rb. look what we are doing with julius and barber. now could you imagine McFadden and barber. or Slayton and Barber. i do agree that we need a wr and a db too though. but we need an elite back. we have our qb of the future now wee need the rb. a young stud reciever would complete the new triplets.

If Stanback works out, we should be pretty strong at wide receiver with all the young wide receivers we already have, and as I have stated earlier we got 2 of the top 7 rated offensive tackles in last years draft. T.O. is good for another couple of years, but if we want to improve our wide receivers use Roy Williams and Julius Jones in a trade for an elite wide receiver. I will be surprised if we use either of our first round draft picks on a wide receiver. I was shocked last year that we did not use a higher draft pick on a corner back. You can bet one of our 2 first round picks this year will be for a corner back, and I think we will draft a running back and a safety with 2 of our top 4 picks in the next draft. Depending on what Tank shows the coaching staff the remainder of the season a nose tackle may be picked also. I would go corner back, running back, safety and nose tackle with my top 4 picks in the draft at this point of the season. The order would be determined by the strength of the draft at certain positions and the best player at those positions available.

JJ is going to be a free agent, we'd have to resign him to trade him. Roy will cost too much against the cap to trade him. Stanback is a QB converted to WR he's going to take some developing to get him into a starting rotation. It normally takes 2-3 years to develope a 1st to 2nd round WR, and you're talking about a first year reciever becoming the future of the cowboys. He does have upside, but whats upside if its never used? The best chance at a premier WR is trading one of our first rounders for one, and we know what happened last time.. *cough* joey galloway *cough*

One very good CB and a DE who can get some push would turn our D into a top 3. Teams are starting to realize that if they double the OLB's, our DE's harry the QB very little.
Believe it or not, Roy Williams and Hamelin would make a decent safety combo if we had another good CB to match up w/ Newmann so both safeties would not have to constantly be covering for the inadequacies at the 2nd CB spot.
OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Easy to say that, considering our 2nd cb spot is injured. I agree we need a CB, but not a DE. Canty and Spears are good, one of the big reasons we're so good against the run. Im down with getting a top flight cb and WR in the first. I really think we just need depth at the CB position to be a good Defense. If we get a true NT, which there are only 2-3 in this entire draft we'll be set. NT is the most cruicial position on a 3-4, with out one, its hard to do anything, really.
