Actually, other than showing the athletic ability that everyone already knew he had, he did kind of look messy on the field with his technique.  It was commented on more than once (mainly by Deion Sanders) that he is a bit sloppy, gets lazy and depends on his pure ability maybe a little too often.  Deion said that he looks forward to calling him and bringing him down to Dallas to train and teach him a few things.  So, he does have the raw ability, but there are at least 4-5 other CBs I would prefer - right now.

I agree with you there seems to be a few others that I would take first if the draft was today.

Talib has great ball skills, but he couldn't rotate his hips smooth enough and if you watched in college he got torched a few times pretty bad. There are others that are better, imo.

Cromartie imrpressed me in the the Sr. Bowl. He was everywhere.

I used to like surprises, then Jerry Jones came along.

I heard that he struggled through out the combine. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

Like we've talked about in the previous posts, he did ok, and even above average, on some of the measurable events, but when it came to on-the-field drills and exercises he looked sloppy in his technique and it was commented on by all the analyst.

Mayock says he is inconsistent with his effort, loses concentration and gives up on plays sometimes.

Like your sig no matter what others say. But talib seems to get burnt on big plays he is fast enough but seems to get lost on the field from time to time.Mabe a good coach can fix that

    Kansas (March 11)

Among the 75 NFL people from all 32 teams in attendance were Chiefs president Carl Peterson. Ravens DB coach Chuck Pagano was there to get a closer look at CB Aqib Talib, and nine OL coaches were there to see Anthony Collins. Prospects ran indoors on Astroturf.

ยป CB Aqib Talib (6-0 7/8, 197): Since the combine, Talib has been working out at Michael Johnson's speed training facility, and it showed here. After running the 40 in 4.46 and 4.53 in Indy, his 40 times for this workout were 4.42 and 4.44. He ran position drills, but kept all his other numbers from the combine.

Sounds like a guy that could really struggle against Pro WR's.
