LSU didn't win crap.  Until they beat Georgia, not to mention USC and WV, they haven't won anything.

Need I remind you that it was Georgia's fault for there not being a matchup with LSU in the SEC Championship game?  Maybe they should have worried about winning their own division within their conference before yapping about the National Championship game!  The only decent team WVU faced all year, and beat, was a team that chokes in bowl games = Oklahoma.  As for USC, their schedule ended-up being pretty much a joke once the season was over (the Pac10 kinda' fell apart at the end of the year).  I undoubtedly would have wanted to see them face LSU (a Pac10 team vs. a SEC team would have made it so much more interesting and worth watching)!  Don't get me wrong, I have always been in favor of a playoff (in which all these teams would have been in), but as for the current system, LSU won it.

Georgia = don't get BLOWN-OUT by Tennessee during the season

USC = don't lose to Stanford at home

WVU = don't lose to Pittsburgh, period

LSU = showed that if you did happen to lose, you do it in overtime and not regulation.

Difference of opinion, Booty.  There can be no champion in Div. 1 College football as they have no playoff system to let teams prove who is the best.  The BCS is not much better than the old system.  Don't you remember when Nebraska got rewarded for not even making it to their Big 12 Championship game?  Yup, got rewarded w/ a matchup in the #1/#2 bowl.  Any system that throws in a team as possibly the best team in the nation who didn't even make it to their own league's championship game has no business declaring a champion, anyway.

My point is, there is no way of knowing who would have won had LSU faced USC, WV, or Georgia.  Personally, I think they would have as I believe they were the best team in college football.  But, no one knows.  A champion takes on the best and beats them.  LSU, sadly, never got a chance.

So, no, it was not Georgia's fault.  It was the system's fault.  It's like.......their system is a non-system.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

You are right, it is a total non-system. Whether it be BCS or polls, it's just been plain stupid.

I'll never forget the 1993 season and the "Bowl Coalition" (a prescursor to the BCS) that put Florida State against Nebraska in the "national title game."

Florida State had one loss, BUT so did Notre Dame, which beat FSU earlier in the season 31-24.

Nebraska was undefeated, BUT so was West Virginia.

Florida State won the "title game" but it proved nothing. Just another dumb way to crown a "champ."

It sucks because college football is such a great sport. It deserves a great playoff system.

Super Bowl VI: Dallas 24, Miami 3
Super Bowl XII: Dallas 27, Denver 10
Super Bowl XXVII: Dallas 52, Buffalo 17
Super Bowl XXVIII: Dallas 30, Buffalo 13
Super Bowl XXX: Dallas 27, Pittsburgh 17

Absolutely my friend, I am sick and tired of the BCS poles and based off of strength of schedule decisions determing who goes and who doesn't. A play off system will certainly eliminate any questions.
