I went on the team website and went to the kids section of the store and actually found a youth replica Graziani jersey!

The season didn't end well for Q. Carter, he got yanked in the 2nd quarter of the last game yesterday. Will be interesting to see if they stick with Carter, the team sounds absolutely horrible as it stands so Carter didn't have much to work with in the limited time he played.

Yeah.  I still thnk they threw him in there too soon and set him up for failure.  He didn't have time to get into football shape, and he played poorly.  I only read his stats, but the KC fans that are posting on the afl.com board said he was terrible.  It sounds like the owners tried to use his name to generate some buzz for next year, but he wasn't ready.  I don't blame Quincy at all; the situation was mishandled from the start.  He should have stayed on the practice squad, or even a backup role, and allowed to compete next season.  If they're smart, they'll keep him and actually see what he can do for them next year, but the powers that be in KC don't sound very smart to me.  Quincy needs to stay focused and keep working if he wants to resurrect his football career. I'd say the jury's still out on whether or not he can do it.

    Re: Quincy Carter

The Brigade just signed Quincy to a 2 yr. extension.  Good for him; I hope it works out, but they need to give him competition and not just hand him the job.  If he doesn't earn the starting job outright, he'll never have the support of his teammates or the fans.

Quincy Carter signs two year extension

The Kansas City Brigade have signed quarterback Quincy Carter to a two year extension.  His new deal will keep him with the Kansas City Brigade through the 2010 season.

Carter (6-foot-2, 215-pounds, Georgia), became a member of the Brigade on May 7th.  He spent several weeks on the practice squad before making his AFL debut on May 31st.  The former SEC freshman of the year has started three games for the Brigade.  In those starts Carter passed for 575 yards and eight touchdowns.  Carter also added one rushing touchdown.

Co-Owner Neil Smith said, “We need a boost at the quarterback position, and we think Quincy can give that to us.  In the AFL the quarterback is the most important position and we need to give Quincy a fair chance to excel.  If we give Quincy a chance to learn the AFL game we think he will improve.  He needs to keep studying the game but we did see some things that we liked.  With time we think Quincy can be a great quarterback in this league.”

I think Carter was given the contract to let him know that they still have confidence in him. Being yanked in the last game isn't good for confidence. But like I said, his team was horrible so unless they don't give him help this team will still be horrible. I expect the Brigade to improve though, after Carter can practice a full off season with his teammates and get to know the game better the Kansas City Brigade should be a much improved team.

I'm guessing too, that this is the first offseason in a long time where Quincy knows what he'll be doing the following season.  It should help him stay focused and motivate him to work.

As a season ticket holder for the Dallas Cowboys, they sent me an e mail giving me 4 free tickets to that game last night.  Unfortunately I didn't get the e mail until today.  Oh well.  Que sara sara.   I live in Austin anyway.

They just got outplayed, pure and simple.  The 'boys need to end this once & done playoff habit that Dallas football teams have fallen into.  If New York goes on to win the Arena Bowl, it'll be like "deja vu all over again"! Wink
