According to the Landry hat, there was some talking going on at the combine.
NFL Network reported during the combines today that the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys are discussing a trade for the top pick. It was reported Dallas is considering trading Marion Barber and three picks for that top pick, which is going to be for Darren McFadden.
McFadden’s stock went through the roof today after he ran a 40 sprint time of 4.27, the fastest of the combines.
If this trade happens, there will be a horde of Cowboys fans that
will go berserk. I am one of them. This trade really makes no sense
because any dumb bell could see that the Cowboys need a ton of help in
the secondary. That is the team’s most-pressing need. How the Cowboys
address it is going to be incredibly huge for the future success of
this football team. Seeking solutions in later rounds isn’t going to
cut it. We cannot play a game of craps shoots with the secondary
anymore!
Then, there is an aging wide receiver corps. Miles Austin and Sam Hurd aren’t going to be stars in this league. The Cowboys need to find a replacement for Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens.
Marshal Faulk and Rich Eisen couldn’t stop talking about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys giving the Arkansas running back such a strong look. Reportedly, Jones left after McFadden ran the 4.27.
For the life of me I cannot figure out why the Cowboys are even
considering this trade. The biggest problem I have with McFadden is he
is top heavy. He’s got chicken legs. I could tackle him by his chicken legs.
Then you look at a running back like Jonathan Stewart’s lower body
and his 230-pound frame. You wonder how the heck he ran a 4.44. I
wouldn’t want to be in front of J.S. at full speed.
I will keep an eye on this development, but I knew the tardiness of
signing Barber is a signal of bad news. And remember, you heard it here
first.
