I remember this time when Cowboys fans were upset about trading this guy named Herschel Walker. Turned out pretty well for us I think.

Still waiting to see any sports team I'm a fan of win a championship. Still waiting. STILL WAITING.

Window Dressing...........Chris Johnson just ran a 4.24 at the same Combine.

Glad someone esle has noticed how "Top Heavy" D Mc is.  I don't see it.

Get me Ray Rice, and Chris Johnson, and I'll take their production over DMac.

Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the "Pick Three"!!! Ray Rice, James Hardy, and Chris Johnson!!!!!!!!!

Big D, u prove once again u have no football knowledge. The trade for Herschel is exactly the opposite of the trade for Mcfadden. Dallas traded away walker for more picks which they built the team of the 90's with. Trading barber we are not getting any draft picks, WERE GETTING RID OF THEM. The whole point of the Herschel Walker trade was to get more picks for 1 player. That is exactly what the Dolphins would be doing, not Dallas. Lol, once again, u ser the example of retarted football fans who have no clue about the NFL.

Ahaha, yes Professor, I do know we got lots of picks. My point was not about what we would receive but about the hesitancy and doubts in giving up a runningback. Quite a simple concept actually.

Listen man, That trade worked soo well for Dallas b/c we got lots of picks, not one player who was a stud, not too mention was proven in the NFL. How did the trade turn out for the Vikings? Turned out pritty shitty for them i think? Thats exactly what would happen if Dallas traded away all there picks and proven RB. Not good. Not good

Its like this. When u were little and walked into the store, u saw candy and jumped right for it, but didn't think about long term of ur teeth roting out. You see the chance of drafting a special player in ur eyes and don't care what it takes to get him. Sit back, settle it in, and relize its not a good trade

If JJ does do this, which I REALLY doubt, you really think he would give up essentially both first rounders and Barber?  I really don't think so.  You have to sign him and then you'll be in cap hell for the next couple of years like the Skins.  I don't see this happening at all, regardless what rumors people may want to believe.  This rumor just won't die.  And if it does, I don't want to hear anyone crying about us needing a corner or a younger wideout because there's not going to be any money left to do anything with.

I can't get behind this move at all.   There are always the Texans!

Think of Bobby Carpenter as money in your pocket. Now think of yourself as not a retard that needs to spend it immediately. Great!

Wow, there's too many idiots and 'lovers' everywhere, including JJ if he's actually considering trading for McF.  Darren McF is super fast running straight, but the guy can't cut, stop and go, run in between the tackles, etc.  He'd only be good if you constantly ran quick sweeps to the outside and had an opening all the way to the endzone, because other than that, he's terrible at falling down on first contact (as noted by Mike Mayock at the Combine).  Chris Johnson is even faster, but he's another 'identical' back to McF.  As for inside runners, Stewart and Mendenhall are bruisers with good speed, but they lack quickness, cutting abilities, and vision.  They'd be no different than us keeping "a proven" MBIII but with a little better speed.  I'd keep MBIII, if that were the case.  We need a lightning boy with very good speed, BUT great quickness, cutting ability, stop-n-go ability, and great vision....AND in my eyes J. Charles is the best fit!  Some would argue that Felix Jones would be better, but I beg to differ.  Jones ran a 4.4 40 time.  Charles ran a 3.6 40 time.  Charles is the better "cones-drill" runner, and the better "hands" pass catcher.  Charles has better stop-n-go cutting ability, quickness, and the ability to hit the hole faster and harder.  Charles is a proven back who is able to run in between the tackles (and not fall down on first contact) or easily take around the corner and break it all the way on any play.  I think everyone, including Jerry Jones, would be smarter keeping the # 22 pick and using it on either Leodis McKelvin, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, or A. Cason.  Then the # 28 pick should be used on Jamaal Charles, because I can promise you all that Charles will not be available after the first 10 picks in the 2nd round.  Then the late 2nd round pick could be used on a WR with size and speed.  That's my take if anyone were to seriously draft smartly for the Cowboys, without having to give up the whole farm and/or MBIII.

Agree for the most part ValleyGman

We should take CB,wr,rb   with r first 3 picks in the draft, whatever order depends on who is availble. i jus wouldn't take rb with the 22nd pick

You and I have had a pretty similar opinion throughout this subject matter.  I just was a little more sold on Felix, than Charles b/c I didn't watch that much UT football in comparison to SEC football.  After watching them do on the field drills at the combine, w/o regard to any of the timed drills or measurments taken, I would have to say that I was pleasantly impressed with Charles.  After watching more film on him, I became even more impressed, in terms of talking about a compliment scat-back with a combination of quick feet, speed, shiftiness and vision.  I do seem to share a different opinion than you on Chris Johnson b/c I believe he does have a huge upside and he has spent a lot of time running inbetween the tackles (he wasn't in a spread offense like Charles either), he caught a lot more balls in his college career and he is an electrifying returner.  I would probably go CB at the #22 spot (to make sure we get the guy that we want), and then I would base my decision on Charles or Johnson from their pro day workout.  Felix is not in the conversation unless he was sick or something during the combine and he explodes back on the scene during his pro day.

If JJ trades Barber, I'M DONE with the Cowboys!

I can understand where your coming from.  I would feel terrible if he is cut loose, not to mention it would probably come back to haunt Jerry.  I mean Mcfadden sounds good in all, but speed dosen't count for nothing if he is not a smart runner..:)

Man makes the attitude, attitude makes the man.
