Still stunned at all this hub bub over a 4th round pick, surprised he fell that far.  He was just as good at Minnesota as Laurence Maroney was.

I remember this time when Cowboys fans were upset about trading this guy named Herschel Walker. Turned out pretty well for us I think.

yea but we got a lot of picks because of it, now we have to give up a lot of picks to get this guy

just say no jerry, just say no

Exactly!  I knew were some thinking about that trade.

It states 3 picks along with Barber.  Using nothing more than a huge SWAG, we're most likely looking at:

    Barber
1st round pick this year (#22)
    2nd round pick this year
Conditional (2nd/3rd round pick next year)

That trade isnt going to happen, Jerry isnt trading Barber.  Besides, I would say DALLAS gets to better deal in that trade, unless if Miami straight up finds a Gem of a player at pick 22.  They have so many options to get a great player if they kept the number 1 pick.  They could get a great RB, the 2nd best(AP being the first) to come out of  college prospect wise since LT.  They can get a near Ware type player in Chris Long, or a great LT in Jake Long.  Not to mention there are a few good DTS there as well.  What they really should do is trade down a FEW spots to get some high picks this year and next.

And, unless if a firestorm of cuts is coming, I simply dont see Dallas being able to afford McFadden in the first place if its getting him from the number 1 spot.  If he slides down to 4-5, then I would strongly consider trading the two firsts and next years 2nd to go up and get him.

A HUGE mistake if they do this.  Why would you pass on a proven (pro bowl) commodity who has a nose for the end zone, for a college kid, who may be a bust???  Barber has great years ahead of him....I pray they are in Dallas.  It's foolish to even consider this.  Besides TR to TO/JW watching MBIII has been by far the best thing to watch the last few years.......agghhh...don't do it Jerry!!!

    We're all doomed!!

Maybe JJ thinks D-Mac can also play cornerback and thats why he is willing to give up both 1st rounders and pass on the op to get a CB at #22 or #28.

We can get our #3 CB in the 2nd round that can come in and play.  Who knows, maybe Oglesby can step it up after being in the system a year and we only need a #4 CB.  It looks like WR is being addressed in FA.  Now to upgrade the RB position, lots of ammo to use.

This is the worst offseason since we had 0 1st round picks and took Quincy Carter in the 2nd round.

Who is going the top runningback we can get next year with the #26 pick in the draft?

A better option could be trade one of the two 1st round picks, also Bobby Carpenter, a 2 round pick, and a 2 round pick of the 2009.

Mc Fadden is like Reggie Bush he can't carry the ball all the game, but he will be a perfect duo behind MBIII

He touched the ball 30 times a game in college.  What about that would make it so you'd suggest that he couldn't carry the load in the NFL?  MBIII is the one that has shown that he can't carry the load.  He didn't carry the load in college and he hasn't shown he can in the NFL.  In 12 college games, DMac carried the ball 325 times compared to Barber's 210 in 16 games in the NFL.

Re: Dallas Cowboys Talk With Miami About Marion Barber Trade

Teams discuss trades all the time.  No player is untouchable.  This is just two guys wondering what it would take to get the first pick in the draft.  In my 43 years of watching football and crossing my fingers at draft time, rumors have always flown, most being false.  Have fun w/ them and consider the possiblities, but if you quit the team because you don't like a trade, you are a quitter and much worse.  And why didn't you quit when we drafted Carp and Fasano, leaving game-changers in the grasp of other teams?  If trading any, and I mean any, player will bring us a Super Bowl, adios.  I root for the Cowboys.  Although I may have my favorite players, I will remain faithful even if they are traded.  And sometimes you have to give up the present for the future.  Step back for a sec and look at the big picture.  Leave it to JJ.  Whatever works, baby.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Obviously JJ's way isn't working, we've won 0 play-off games in now 12 years, that's just not good.  I thought we would get over the hump in 2007 and now I'm just not sure.  8-4 to 9-8 and 12-1 to 13-4 is very discouraging.

And if we get McF, which I don't think we will, MBIII would be lucky to average 8 carries a game.
