I am so freaking bored....I can't wait until the season begins!!! I really hate this time of the year...we get teased with all of these rumors going around (Moss, for one--- I was licking my lips on that one)...then Jerry ends up signing bone head free agents (a.k.a. Walker from Denver, why???)...then I look forward to the draft.... then Jerry picks up players that make me scratch my head...then I get pissed and vow not to watch anything football related until the season starts!

    Look at it like this....

There are 24 items/date listed above. We are already through 8 of them with Free Agency starting tonight. It will be here before you know it. Once we get through the draft, time should speed up a little.

Yeah, if no deal or tender is in place they become free agents.  They are fair game to anybody with no compensation.  The Restricted title disappears.

Spring meetings in Florida 3/30 - 4/3. So by next Thursday, the opening day game should be decided...... ? at NYG. I'd like to see a Cowboys matchup here!

also a few rule changes could be voted on....

NFL | League to consider defensive headsets again

    Wed, 26 Mar 2008 14:48:15 -0700

Sam Farmer, of the Los Angeles Times, reports the NFL is looking into the possibility of allowing a designated defensive player to wear a radio earpiece similar to the one the quarterback wears. Teams are expected to vote on the proposal next week at the annual league meetings in Palm Beach, Fla. The proposal needs 24 votes to pass and fell two votes short last year. The revised proposal would allow a second player to have a speaker in his headset but wouldn't be allowed on the field the same time as the guy with the headset.

NFL | Competition committee proposing rule changes

    Wed, 26 Mar 2008 13:06:54 -0700

Kevin Seifert, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports the NFL competition committee will vote next week to change current NFL rules. If the vote is passed, receivers will have to get both feet in bounds and have possession of the ball to get credit for the catch, even if they are pushed by a defender. The committee will also vote on issues that include allowing replays on field goals, changing seeding procedures for the playoffs, changing the coin toss procedures and eliminating the five-yard facemask penalty.

NFL | Owners will consider length of hair from helmets

    Wed, 26 Mar 2008 12:51:40 -0700

The Associated Press reports NFL owners will discuss in their meetings in Palm Beach, Fla., whether to ban players from having hair flow from their helmets below their names on the back of their jerseys. The rule banning long hair from the field was proposed by the Kansas City Chiefs. Pittsburgh Steelers S Troy Polamalu was dragged down by his hair after an interception against the Chiefs by RB Larry Johnson. The rule would not require players to cut their hair but would make them tuck their hair into their helmets.

    Re: Offseason Schedule

Well, we've signed a few players this offseason.  They just happen to be our own.

We now have our wow factor in........Felix Jones? (according to Jerry Jones, anyway).  Also had a decent draft...not bad, but nothing exciting.

So there are some things that are happening.  Just not overly hyped up as the media has suggested.

No McFadden, no Ocho Cinco, no Roy Williams or Randy Moss or Anquan Boldin, nothing of that sort.  No big news from Valley Ranch except  our own players signed, the release of PSLs in the 2009 stadium, and crickets chirping.

Oh, we did sign Zach Thomas.

Don't get me wrong, we're doing alright...but this seems boring compared to what the media hyped us all up to believe.  I was anticipating for shock and awe.  The lack of movement was more shock and yawn.  You never know, offseason is not over.  We'll see what happens, should anything happen.
