EVERYONE JUST NEEDS TO RELAX AND TAKE A DEEP BREATH............

As I read through some of these posts (regarding the upcoming draft and the start of NFL free agency) I am forced to say one thing.   RELAX!!!!!!  We are okay...  This year was horrible for available free agents.  We don't really need anyone out there except for maybe an available CB.  Do not forget that we did remove who would have been the hottest OL that would have entered free agency by resigning Flozell.  Bottom line is Jerry is a smart guy and is not going to overpay for weak talent.  Bernard Berrian getting 6million a year.  You can have him.  Jacques Reeves getting 20 million from Houston?  At least he can keep his house here in Dallas and commute for games.  LOL.  After trading Ferguson to Miami,  the Cowboys now have approximately 10 million in available cap room left.  Considering that our draft class will cost about 5 million and the fact that we have to resign Barber,  we are pretty much done in free agency.  Expect the Cowboys to pull players off of the waiver wire that can ad something at a bargain basement price.  I doubt Jerry will get into a bidding war for any free agent.  A trade could possibly work because then you are basically swapping cap costs rather than incur them.  I also expect before june to see Hamlins franchise tag cap hit of 4.5 million redone so that the cost can be spread out and free up cap space for this year.   Also don't forget,  our first two picks in the first round are not going to be cheap.  Even if we stay at 22 and 28 the combined contracts will have a hit on the cap.  I expect jerry to use 22  but trade the 28th for lower picks to save money.

Bottom line is we are okay.  We did go 13 and 3 last year and maybe we need a couple of play makers but at what cost?  Trust in Jerry and we will be okay.

Ok, how does trading Fergy, free up roughly around 4 million dollars in cap? I am just wondering.

It freed up 2.5 million in cap space .  combined with available remaining space totals about 10 million.  Your focusing on the wrong thing.  its not whether or not you nit pick stats its just relax

Must be nice to misplace $100,000.

This is the worst offseason since we had 0 1st round picks and took Quincy Carter in the 2nd round.

Who is going the top runningback we can get next year with the #26 pick in the draft?

I would not be surprised if we pick up noone in free agency. Draft is where it's at, we need young talent.

I hate how everyone puts so much stock into the draft...How is Carpenter doing? He was a first rounder...the draft is hit or miss. We might get a player who can contribute...then again we might not. Smart teams use both FA and the draft.

Redskins owner, George Preston Marshall, met the Dallas team with opposition. The owners bought "Hail to the Redskins" and refused to allow Marshall to play the song. Marshall changed his mind, and Dallas, was granted an NFL franchise on January 28, 1960.

I sure hope you're wrong. A first round corner needs to step in and start on opening day? How will that work if he's unable to? :)

I hope he does too. All I am saying is...most of the time rookies hit that wall, or just don't pan out. The draft can be great for a team...but the draft AND FA are even better.

We don't need a CB......we need a good third corner........Roy Williams is our problem......and Hamlin can't cover either

It was sarcasm. If a first round corner needs time to develop, they really painted themselves into a corner for that 3rd spot?. No pun intended!! lol

How are we good at 3rd CB when Reeves and Nate Jones are not on the team anymore. We need a CB in the draft and particulary in the first round.

The 3rd CB is on the field almost as much as the top 2 players!!! The nickel can be run 95% of the time in the NFL!
