Give Keith Davis what he wants?

Do you think we should give keith Davis a shoot at safety? Give him a new contract and use him at safety or let him go somewhere else. What do you think?Idea

He's as good as gone. He's looking for more playing time at S and won't get it here! He's a special teams ace though and I would like to see him stay for that reason!

Parcells will never let him leave Miami.  He loves Davis and always preached about special teams while he was here.  With them rebuilding, i think Parcells will give him a similar deal to what he got a few years ago, and guarantee him the opportunity to battle for the starting spot in training camp.

He's not going to be a starter anywhere.  If he wants to come back and accept his special teams / backup role then we should resign him.  Miami will probably give him more money and a  chance to compete, but it will be a losing team for quite awhile.

This is the worst offseason since we had 0 1st round picks and took Quincy Carter in the 2nd round.

No way, watkins is much better as a backup anyway.  Also, there will always be good special teams players so no need to waste money on a glorified special teams player that will always be a backup.  Remember when Billy Bates lead our special teams for all those years but stayed as a backup?  Well money is a lot tigheter now and Davis is no where near the leader that Bill Bates was, although he does deserve respect for his special teams abilities.

He was a big reason we lost the playoff game to the Giants. He missed that tackle on McQuarters, allowing them to start inside their own 35 yard line, on their way to the go ahead touchdown.

In fact, our ST sucked all year. See ya.

    Aikman's gonna throw, deep slant. Caught, 35. HARPER'S BREAK'N AWAAAYYY! HARPER'S GOT MIDFIELD! HARPER'S GOT THE 40, HARPER'S GOT THE 30, HARPER'S GOT THE 20, HARPER'S GOT THE 10.......

Forget him.......We need to draft Dominique Barber (Marions lil bro) in the 4th or 5th round.......He will take Roys job full time within 2nd year.

    One thing those Barbers are......PLAYMAKERS

I like drafting Barbers brother, i think he may become a good player, maybe even a starter in this league and it adds to that comfortable family type atmosphere that Wade is trying to bring back to dallas.  Doubt he takes over for Roy though, if he is gone after this year, it will be Hamlin taking his spot as he is more of a SS but has the ability to play both safety spots.

Considering the number of safeties we have already, we definitely have greater needs to address .....and KD is probably going to ask for too much ( in terms of $$$ and playing time) to really justify keeping him around.

I heard the comments by Jerry Jones today and i've read the replies here.

    MARK MY WORD!

Keith Davis will make Jerry and the rest of you nieve blind Roy Williams fans feel very stupid for downplaying what all this guy really brings. This thing was set up by bill parcels himself and he managed to fool jerry and got Keith, best kept secret and the player he really wanted and believes in. Well Bill did always know how to put superbowl teams together. He wanted to do it here but the ego was too big to share here. Being a Team Captain doesn't come by luck ya know. I predict he will be the best free agency safety signed this year. I also predict we will be sick of Roy this year and feel just as dumb as the Texans did with David Carr. Im just saying folks, he played better than Roy with one arm (HE HAD A TORN PECTORAL MUSCLE SINCE WEEK 3). Advice to anyone that wants to run and keep a successful business, NEVER LET YOUR BEST EMPLOYEES GO!!!

Ok so now we are going to have the 9th best FS in the draft projected as 5-7th round pick come in and take our SS's job who was an 8th overall pick and has been to 5 straight probowls.   Please hold off on the 2nd Barber kool-aid until he is actually drafted and makes a team.

Greg Ellis is slightly above average. Spencer as starter in 08.

We have enough Pac man threads for this off season. Just say No when your tempted to start one.

Davis had his chance and he couldnt unseat the safety's we already have.

I would like him to stay.. but he wants to start.. so unless no-one else wants him... he's gone.

Miami is not a good fit for Davis.  There's too much random gun play down there -- not a good place for a bullet sponge.
