Bailey is very over-rated, he gives up a lot of big plays and does get scored on. Newman is probably the most complete corner in the league right now, that Raiders corner is probably #2.
Champ Bailey was the best CB in the league, however he may not be any more. During the 2006 season, Bailey gave up 2 receptions all year. Look it up. Not two TD's, two receptions. Bailey was the best for a few years, but CB is a short-lived position. A CB is lucky if he can play at a quality level after about 33-34 years of age. How old is Bailey? I really don't know, but he's got to be early to mid 30'as. Bailey may be overrated now, but he was not overrated in his prime.
I think it's hilarious when people call Bailey overrated. He's still the best in the game and only 30. He was injured last year but is far from finished.
If Bailey is overrated, then all the coaches, scouts, and NFL people in general are all wrong. Bailey towers over all the other CB's. He has the top tier all to himself, although a few are close and some youngsters coming up are looking really good. As much talk as you hear about shutdown corners, they are very rare. Might be 1-3 in the league right now, w/ Bailey heading the list.
OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

deuceizloose: yep you can ink him....one cb replaced and we are one step closer to sending roy williams packing...:) the funny thing to me is watching these replayed games in my nice calm state..:) I am seeing what I thought I saw all along..our secondary can't get off the field on third down....no matter who was covering whom...it is ridiculous..but it also speaks volumes about the slow pass rush we had.....so here i'll say it again...:) get rid of spears, roy williams, move henry to FS, IF CARPENTER OR BURNETT or what ever his name is don't come to play during preseason then try to trade or release them ...also we need to fix the special teams they played awful last year... good news...romo is the man...TO is the bomb, witten is on point..barber is my cousin, ware..do i need to say anything, bradie..what away to lead in tackles..and great way to fix the kicking game by drafting a kicker..who would have thunkit...:), o line is great, ellis what a away to shut us up...and for the rest of you high round def players...step it up....

If Anthony can be Free Safety we would be clutch.... and were getting Pacman our Defense is going to be so sick this season I think we need to draft a CB in the 2nd round

Re: New Update on Titans CB Adam "pacman" Jones
Yeah, I just heard the trade is back on. Fantastic news for the D, but I do worry about the distraction and what effect that might have on the lockerroom.
Newman, Pacman, Hamlin and Henry (well, for at least the 6 games he'll play this year!) makes for a hell of a secondary. If Ellis can hold up, Spencer takes a step forward, Canty continues to improve and Tank and Ratliff anchor the middle like they should, we'll have a nice front 7 and a nice secondary.
Here's to hoping Pacman finds a brain, even if it's not his own, and somehow tempers his behavior to an acceptable level.

Re: New Update on Titans CB Adam "pacman" Jones
So, if Pacman isn't even reinstated or worse gets into trouble again and we give up a pick??? I think the potential reward down the road IF he is reinstated is worth the minimal cost provided he gets into game-shape and stays out of trouble, but the risk??? The risk is the locker room chemistry. This kind of person...keeping their nose clean is not easy and it is not like they will suddenly be a role model. How will he fit in with this team? I love the guy's talent, but I don't know how much I like this move. I'm all for second hell even third chances, but I don't think the man quite gets "it" yet.
I can't stand Goodell, but as long as he is the commissioner everyone has to play ball. Will Pacman? I'm not getting my hopes up for this trade. If Goodell denies Pacman tomorrow or later in the week and we make the trade I'm still going to be pretty upset. I don't think Goodell is going to reinstate the guy later this summer or mid-season if he denies him now.
DeMarcus, Anthony, Greg...35 combined sacks in 2008. Mark it down.
Tony 4,000/40 TDs
Darren McFadden (wherever he goes) 1,200/10 TDs

Denver had no D-line at all last year, if you get no pressere then the QB has all day to sit in the pocket, Bailey is still the man. There's alot more to it then just stats, this isnt fantasy league.

Re: New Update on Titans CB Adam "pacman" Jones
I was listening to ESPN and heard john clayton say that Wade Phillips is begging to bring in pacman. He told Jerry to give up whatever you have too, but i really want this kids talent and play making ability here. Now I wonder if Bill would be saying the same thing, lol. Wade don't care about your past, he's easy going and gets along real well with the players, which is why TO had no problems last yr. If only Wade could tighten up on the penalites, we''d be golden. Either way, look for a deal to get done this week, and i'd say a 4th or a 5th, maybe conditional pick next yr

| According
to Rototimes.com sources, the trade of Pacman Jones to the Cowboys is
close to being completed, with the hold up being how the team will
settle the grievance with Pacman over financial matters. Apparently,
the team’s have agreed on a 3rd round pick being sent to
Tennessee along with a conditional pick, believed to be a 5th rounder,
if the Cowboys were to make it to the Superbowl. It also appears that
Roger Goodell has given his blessing to the deal and has stated that he
would re-instate Pacman as soon as Pacman and the team work out the
issues over his grievance. |
Our View:
Pacman will apparently get his wish and be able to suit up for the
Cowboys this season, though this will only happen once he and the
Titans finally settle how to best pay money that he feels is owed to
him. His talent is unquestioned on the field, but he certainly brings
with him a massive amount of baggage. |

Re: New Update on Titans CB Adam "pacman" Jones
I might throw up if the 'Boys actually give up a 3rd round pick for him. He's one lap dance away from a lifetime ban, and the Titans don't appear to want anything to do with him.

i was thinking the same thing. for a guy who supposedly has no suitors but us how come we're giving up a 3rd, and maybe a fifth. if the titans get us to this deal they win. we started off offering a sixth and they got us all the way up to a 3rd.

I'm with y'all, no way should we give them a 3rd, not sure if we should even give them a 4th unless they want to drop the conditional pick

Re: New Update on Titans CB Adam "pacman" Jones
IRVING –
Talks are back on, and the Dallas Cowboys have increased their offer to
the Titans for suspended cornerback Pacman Jones, according to a
source. AP Cornerback Pacman Jones hasn't played in the NFL since the 2006 season.
The Cowboys, who have been preparing for the draft, had been sticking
to their offer of one mid-round pick since negotiations with Tennessee
began more than a month ago. The Titans have been asking for two picks
for Jones, one this year and one in 2009. Jones' agent,
Manny Arora, said last week his client would apply for reinstatement
today. Commissioner Roger Goodell, who will be in Dallas on Wednesday
to speak at the SMU Athletic Forum, has said he would make a decision
on Jones before training camp. A trade could be completed
without Goodell reinstating Jones. The Cowboys signed defensive tackle
Tank Johnson last season in the middle of an eight-game suspension,
however, the league allowed him to work out at the team's facility
before his punishment was over. Jones could be granted the same
exemption should he be dealt to a new team. Jones and
Arora said they are willing to re-work Jones' contract if he's traded.
The Titans are looking to recoup some of the signing bonus money Jones
has earned, and Jones is seeking some incentive money he earned before
his suspension. Neither side has filed a grievance. I've been wondering about that myself, how in the world they got Jerry to up the ante. -_-
