I like to root for the Yanks only to get a rise from all of the Metz and Redsox fans.  I seldom ever like to "stir the pot" but when it comes to baseball and if I'm on the east coast, I will stir that pot with both hands and a big grin on my face.

When it comes down to it, I could really care less who wins unless of course it a Texas baseball team that is playing.  Then I have to root for the home state.  Let's face it though, Texas isn't really know for their baseball teams.  Sad, very sad.

I've been a diehard Astros fan since the late 60's.  They have usually been mediocre, but I'll never give up.  For the last 10 years or so, they have been pretty good, even winning the division a time or two and making a World Series appearance.  Too bad they couldn't win.

Well I was rooting, cheering and hollering when the Astros went to the world series.  I was looking forward to being able to brag about how Texas would now have a championship football, basketball and baseball team.  It wasn't meant to be though.

It wasn't meant to be because they couldn't hit the damn ball.
OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Rivera can be old as he wants, still the best closer in the game. There pitching isn't that old anyway, with Joba and there phillips whoes a stud. Wung or w'e his name is is also solid and not old. There hitting is one of the best from top to bottom also, they have a chip on their shoulder this yr and will take it all the way to title

Wang is the only young proven starter they have.  Joba and Phillips are two of the unprovens I was talking about.

Their hitting is the best in baseball.  Pitching wins titles.  Mussina is done.  Pettitte can't stay healthy anymore. So, it comes down to the kids, Joba and Phillips, just as I said.

Rivera may not be the best any more, but he is still one of the best.  Problem is, Yankees don't have anyone to get it to him.  Their offense will beat up the bad pitching staffs as usual, but pitching wins in the playoffs.  Angels, Boston, Clev, and Det all have better pitching.  Yankees will be lucky to make it past the first round.

Joba and Rivera make up the best bullpen in the leauge, hands down. And Mussina isn't done, he keeps going and is a solid pitcher. Pettitte will be healthy when it comes postseason time when we need him. Wang is a proven starter and very underratted. Phillips is only gettting better, and with the best O in the league, that takes alot of pressure off the pitching staff. All the starters have to do is take it 6 innings, and let Joba and Rivera take care of it.

U say Boston has better pitching, Not soo fast. Beckett is injury prone so you can't count on him, and Dice-K had a bad ERA last yr and is overrated. Tim Wakefield, lol, if hes in your starting rotation  you know you suck. Det, yea there doing real well this yr, hahaha. And there pitching has one good guy in verlander, rest r old and injury prone. Who does clevland have thats established besides Sabithia, no one. Angels are a good team i will say, but K-rod is also overrated and idk about there lineup. Yanks have Jeter and thats all they need

Oh, Look!  Wakefield has a better ERA than Mussina.  If Wakefield sux as badly as you say, then Mussina must be really horrible.  Phillip Hughes is getting better to the tune of a 9.00 ERA.  Wow, only nine runs a game!

That's part of the problem.  Steinbrenner has brought a lot of talent in but in today's game, buying a winner seems to be what he's all about.  I think he should have never let Joe Torre go.  They were winning for crying out loud but you can only win so many without a good pitching staff.

Shhh.  I've been sending Steiny Emails explaining to him that pitching doesn't win and that trading away all your young talent is the way to go.  Please don't tell him the truth.

I am yankees fan but I am getting a wierd piece of pleasure so far seeing the yanks this season.  Don't get me wrong, it breaks my heart to see this happen to Jeter and even the new skip but not the Steinbrenners.  I'd like to go up to the 'office'. and go

Are the Yanks finally going to appreciate ARod a little now that he's injured and their offense isn't what it was?

     I dislike the Yankees.

I find it funny that no matter how much money George spends he just can't seem to 'buy' that championship. At least in recent years.

Me too.  Steiny has gone the route of the Redskins, buying big marquee names and not paying attention to the details such as pitching, defense, and team unity.  Good pitching trumps good hitting almost every time.

It's hilarious to watch. They have one guy on their team that has a bigger salary than a WHOLE other team. One player...makes more than all the money another team pays out to their whole club. HAHA, insane.

The funny part is that team always has their number!! Yanks can't beat TB or KC for that matter???? The state of baseball is more sad than funny with salaries like that!
