2008 Schedule Discussion:
The Cowboys have known their 2008 opponents since January, but the league released their official schedule on Tuesday featuring at least six national TV games and juicy Thanksgiving rematch with '06 wild-card opponent Seattle and ex-running back Julius Jones.
Let's break it down. Does the schedule appear favorable for another run toward home-field advantage?

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
weve got a tough schedule. they wanna give the Patriots an easy schedule, well im gonna laugh when it backfires and they go 12-4.
im looking forward to these games honestly. its gonna show everyone just how GOOD we are or how bad we are. im ready to see the 4 Horseman (Romo, T.O., Witten, MBIII) our offense, the Doomsday Defense tear apart our opponents this year. 13-3, 12-4. can u feel it? can u dig it?

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
I love this schedule, it starts off with some good games at Cleveland and the Boys hosting Humpty Dumpty and company on MNF. Then we travel to Lambeau without Favre, then comeback and host the Skins and Bengals. The Bengals will hopefully be in last years form, when they couldn't hold people from scoring. Then we have a nice stretch against the Cards, Rams and Bucs. The Rams should be better, but the Cards and Bucs should be blow outs. Then we get the defending Champs, fortunately for us they still have Eli at QB. I still can't believe the Giants won the SB, better them than the cheaters. I like where the bye takes place, then come off the buy in another national game against the skins, then we host the Niners and Seahawks (Julius on Thanksgiving). This is what I love about the schedule, we'll have to close strong to remain on our toes against the Steelers, Giants, Ravens and Eagles. My prediction as off right now is 14-2.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
I think this schedule gives this team a very good shot at going 11-5 or better... but all-in-all I would have to say that I am somewhat disappointed/bored with it (apart from our typical tough divisional games). I guess someone over at FOX cried a river in order to get more games of the Cowboys instead of them having more Monday night or NFL network games. Other than the opening game at Cleveland and the Thanksgiving game against Seattle (which wasn't hard to figure), all the others just seem to be poorly positioned. The Pittsburgh game should have definitely been a NFL network, Monday night, or Sunday night game! The Packers Sunday night game is a waste. That division is a revolving door: the Bears were good 2 years ago, the Pack had their run last year, now it's the Vikings turn to go to the playoffs. I know you really can't generate too much excitement over the Bengals, Cardinals, Rams, Bucs, or 49ers, and no way in hell should the last regular season game in Texas Stadium be against the Ravens?!? Who wants to see the Ravens and Cowboys on the NFL Network? I don't see why it couldn't have been against any one of our divisional rivals?!? I guess I'm just mad b/c the date of the Pittsburgh game has thrown my scheduling/attendance into jeopardy... December 7th, great, another mud bowl.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
Big_D:It would've been nice to get a MNF game "at home" on week 17 for the last regular season game ever played at Texas Stadium!!! That's my only gripe. Doesn't seem right for that game to be played against the Ravens? Any division team in a national game would've been the proper send off IMO!!! Hopefully they host the Championship game there...... Then it won't matter!
Just another wat for the NFL and mediots to keep the Cowboys out of the limelight.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
I work nights and have to miss MNF and NFL Network games, so I love this schedule. There is no reason we shouldn't at least match last years record of 13-3. There are no back to back road games except @ Arizona & St. Louis (not exactly a tough trip). We play @ NYG and Washington but that is separated by the Bye week. Our toughest games are the divisional games, we got hooked up this year!
Remember December.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
Yeah, I noticed that too. It is as if Goodell is handing Kraft the opportunity to go 16-0 again. Tired of the Patriots being the "good ole boys" of the NFL and getting away with murder (well, cheating anyway).
The NFC East is always a tough division, but can't complain with having the NFC west. I see the Steelers possibly being a tough match, but the Bungles, Ravens, and Browns shouldn't be too difficult, IMO. A Favre-less Green Bay is beatable and Tampa Bay should be beatable, provided Garcia doesn't give our defense any fits.
Over all, I see a favorable schedule aside from our own division. I'm just disappointed that some of the away games are not at home (Steelers, Green Bay)

The Cowboys have to remain focused. We can not look over any team. I just hope we peak going into the playoffs and Glenn can come back and contribute!

I'm just disappointed that some of the away games are not at home (Steelers, Green Bay) Goodell is not involved in schedule making. 14 of the 16 games in a year are already decided for every team in the league for the next 50+ years. Only 2 games change according to your record, and as a result the Pats play the Colts and Steelers because of it. Hardly "handing Kraft the opportunity to go 16-0 again"...........
