First: I'm dissapointed in the nfl for not giving us a home closer for the end of the texas stadium era. But that should give us the extra motivation to get home-field. Which leads me to...
Second: With Favre gone, there won't be any real threat (outside of our division, at least) from anyone in the NFC. And finally...
Third: Our schedule this year could prove to be pretty tough, but I have faith in our boys. We keep ourselves together in december, we'll be around making some noise in january.
I can feel it in the air. Its the feeling that came around 5 times before. Its our year. Its time for us to shine. Can you feel it? CAN YOU FEEL IT?!

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
This should be motivation to host a home game in the playoffs, because giving their final game in Texas Stadium to the Ravens on the NFL Network which millions can't watch really seems like a slap in the face! It's ridiculous! The Cowboy organization has been extremely vital in the success of the League. No team is loved and hated more!!!! Couldn't throw them a bone for the occasion? Didn't even have to be week 17. Same week would have been fine. MNF against the Skins possibly???? Set up a little drama for the occasion, which the league should be making more of an effort to do around the schedule. Create these matchups that everyone will tune in to watch! They definitely dropped the ball in this case! As for the rest of it... bring on Cleveland!

I agree with the comment about the home closer and as I posted early on this topic, I feel we should have been able to play the Deadskins. As far as your comment about no one else in the NFC being a threat, I hope the Cowboys don't see things that way or we'll be saying the same thing we were at the end of last season, "How the hell did we lose to a team we should have beaten?" Yeah, we have a tough schedule in which we play 6 of the teams that made the playoff , including all 5 of the NFC teams and Pittsburgh. Me, I like this schedule, it will show the true metal of this team.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
u cant say there wont be any threats because u don know how the draft will affect pple or how their team will click. did anyone kow that the rams would only win two games, probally not. things happen. but i do agree our that this schedule will show whether the cowboys are mentally tough. i believe that this season will ultimately show whether or not wade will remain head coach or if garrett will take over so tthis does carry more significance then usual

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
I think we go 15-1 next year. Our defence is going to be improved a lot and with another great reciever next to TO, the passing game will be unbelievable and lets not forget Barbarion on the field. Barber will have his best year yet in 2008. Next year we will have home field advantage. Im really excited to see Jones on Thanksgiving and it is ganna be a great year next year. The last home game against the Ravens. Ray Lewis at Texas Stadium. That game will be one to attend. I see a lot of great things happening with the new schedule.

Re: 2008 Schedule Discussion:
Yeah, Philly and Dec. are never a good thing and with the 'Boys sitting at the top of the NFC with a comfortable two game win margin (my prediction) why get someone hurt away from home? I agree we'll lose this one but only because it'll be the backups playing most of the game.
My prediction: 14-2 and SuperBowl win #6

Since it feels like December today in the Rocky Mountains (2 " of snow on the ground), My comment on the 2008 schedule revolves around December. The last couple of years the Cowboys have seen their play diminish and their playoff hopes follow suit. Three out of those final four games are going to be tough and the other team, Baltimore is going to be physical. This is the stretch that I see and it makes me wonder if they are going to be able to end up 12-4 or 9-7. I'm with CCoach and will wait to see what happens in the Draft and what a few other teams do before I am bold enough to predict... I know how harsh many of you 'all are.
I hope the Philly game won't even matter and we can rest our Starters in that freezing cold.
No, no. No more resting starters in the last game of the season. I'm with Coach Couch. I'd rather see the guys have to fight for their playoff spot. Let's get some momentum going at the end of the season. I think the 'Boys level of success is highly dependent on whether or not JG and the OL decide to run the ball like they did in the first half against the Giants this year. One of the keys to winning the SB is running the ball effectively. Here's hoping that MBIII and "The Cat" are ready to carry Romo and the guys to the title.

I think Arizona is going to be tougher than we all think. I don't expect the Rams to be that bad again. The schedule looks tough now. Everyone keeps saying the Pats have an easy schedule. I don't think that's necessarily true. Their schedule may turn out to be harder than we think. And the 'Boys schedule could be easier than we think as well. Let's just wait for the games to begin to find out.

The Cowboys have known their 2008 opponents since January, but the league released their official schedule on Tuesday featuring at least six national TV games and juicy Thanksgiving rematch with '06 wild-card opponent Seattle and ex-running back Julius Jones.
Let's break it down. Does the schedule appear favorable for another run toward home-field advantage?
At this point, my brain is suffering from overload. And they haven't even started the season yet. I'm overwhelmed by the media's talk about the Cowboys being overrated. Cris Carter has already picked them as his overrated team. The NFL Network is discussing whether or not the Cowboys have the role players needed to win a playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl. They pointed the Giants out as an example of a team. I'm already annoyed by the media circus around the guys. It's a distraction that the team doesn't need, especially considering the fact that we didn't even win the Super Bowl last year.
I like JJ's desire to see the 'Boys back on top. However, I swear he doesn't know how to get out of the way of seeing his goal become reality. Hard Knocks?! Again?!! Seriously! The last time they did the show, they finished 5-11!! Has JJ forgot that quickly? The media is a distraction to your 4th youngest team in the NFL, JJ!!! This isn't Troy, Emmitt, Michael, Deion and all the rest. This generation of Cowboys hasn't won a playoff game, let alone a Super Bowl title. They need to FOCUS ON WINNING A PLAYOFF GAME!!!! Forget all of the hype!! I'll believe it when I see it. I'm a true Cowboys fan. I have been so since I was 10 years old. And I will remain so till I die. I'm just anxious for these guys to get it done. One playoff win and it's all downhill after that. They'll have the confidence of knowing that they can do it. Until that happens, they will never reach their goals.
As for the schedule, I'm with most of the fans posting here! Will DECEMBER be one to remember? Or will it be like so many before it? It's imperative that the Cowboys hold the post-Thanksgiving games in high regard. The season isn't over until it's over. NO MORE COASTING!! I hope they don't clinch early just so they will have to play hard in December. Clinching early causes you to lose your edge. We've seen it happen time and time again in the last three years or so. (Chargers ('06), Colts ('05), and the Steelers ('04)) On the bright side, two out of those three teams won the Super Bowl the very next season. So all hope isn't lost on the 'Boys. I think some of the greats from the Cowboys past should pay the new Cowboys a visit this December. And they should bring their Super Bowl rings with them.
My major concern isn't how many games we're going to win. I'm more concerned about Wade Phillips ability to win a playoff game. It's not going to do us any good if our guys win 12, 13 or 14 games and then lose the first playoff game. WP concerns me as he should all of my fellow Cowboys fans. i hope his mindset is right this year. There is too much talent on this team for WP to not win a championship. This is the best team he's ever had. I hope he realizes what's at stake here.

ya know i appreciate and respect your thoughts the only thing i would add is this team is last year was the first year in a new offense and defense , now with a full year under them , and learning from each other , the coach's and film from last years successful and at teh same time disappointing season , will give them the leadership , knowledge , and drive to be the best team in the NFL this coming season , the young guys can look to the vet's for encouragement and advice , the vets have the bad taste left over from last year and the new desire to prove to the whole league that they are the best team in the NFL...... and to steal qoutes from several other fans " if the players on this team can not get themselves motivated enough to win a playoff game then they should not be playing in the NFL " , Wade's job is to coach the team , more so the defense i think , and JG 's job is the Offense , what i worry about isn't them motivating the team , but calling the right plays to win or put the game away , that worries me more then anything else , i honestly think the players will take of themselves and get the job done as long as the coach's put the right players on the field.........
Buckle up and Hang on - It's gonna be a great ride
