The Cowboys clearly need running back depth after losing Julius Jones to free agency and deciding not to tender restricted free agent Tyson Thompson. Pro Bowler Marion Barber will be back, but he needs a complementary piece.

Team owner Jerry Jones and Co. likely will focus on running back in next weekend's draft. Which prospects in a deep class interest you most?

Chris Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Steve Slaton and Jonathan Stewart. 

R.Mendenhall, J.Stewart, C.Johnson and J.Charles. In that order.

Stewart if I want someone that can be the man if MBIII gets hurt.  Chris Johnson if I want a multi-purpose back.  Cory Boyd as a late rounder if I want someone to fill Tyson's spot.

I think more people should read up on Ray Rice. He is way underrated. The critics say he has too much mileage, ie productivity, in high school and at Rutgers. They also say he is a bit short. I remember the same exact critiques of one Emmitt Smith. And his mileage went farther in the NFL than anyone else. Check him out.

For me I would be pleased with either Stewart or Felix Jones  too compliment MBII !

We need to stay away from Steve Slaten, he is not going to pan out in the NFL...we need a bruiser like Ray Rice or someone like Felix Jones to compliment Barber, no matter who we draft, they are going to need to be able to run, and block right out of the gate, and Romo will not be able to get that from Slaten IMO

Jamaal Charles and Steve Slaton would fit it well and bring plenty of speed to compliment Barbers hard nosed running style. Wouldn't mind seeing the Cowboys take either of these RBs. Felix Jones appears to be the RB that everyone thinks the Cowboys will take in round 1, he should be there with the 28 pick. Keep an eye on Dantrell Savage in the later rounds as the Cowboys might go with two RBs in this years draft.

I've been high on Stewart and Steve Slaton since before the bowl games.  Slaton brings that slice and dice that would compliment either Stewart or Barber.  Jamaal Charles would bring that same ability.  Although, I do feel that if we bring in a 1st round running back such as Stewart (bigger, stronger, faster than Barber) we are punching Barber's ticket out of here at the end of the season.
