    Tornado rips thru Suffolk Va.

well on a bummer note we have been watching non stop tornado news since 3:30. I know you folks in Dallas and the midwest are more used to this kind of news, (i'm from dallas) but out here in Va we have only recorded 3 F4 tornados in the history of record keeping. This one is looking to be a F4 and quite possibly an F5 tornado.  Most of our tornados look like a pencil coming out of the sky and do very little damage and don't last long on the ground. This one was a monster, when my boy saw it on TV he said "that looks like a texas tornado"

my prayers go out to all who are affected. Thankfully noone has been reported dead but they have alot of flattened homes to search. last count was over 200 at area hospitols injured so far. that number will go up as the night rolls on.

    peace be with all

We've been having some very strange weather this year.  Here in upstate NY it's been relatively quiet but the rest of the country is getting hammered.  My Mother endured an F4 last year in Florida and I don't wish that on anyone.  I hope for the best for anyone who has had to endure these weather oddities.

New season, new players, new result!

When I first moved to IA 11 years ago, Tornado season was pretty scary.  I am from Wy and we didn't have anything like that to worry about.  But the weather is changing.  Tornado season now is much less now than it used to be.  Yeah the weather is changing and that's kinda scary...

This year has indeed been a strange one for weird weather - of course they always say in the Midwest - if you don't like it now, wait 5 minutes and you'll get something different - but seriously, Saturday was almost 80*, today parts of the Midwest woke up to snow.....that change in atmosphere alone will cause a major storm, if not a tornado.  Thoughts go out to VA....
