If they can't settle it on the field we will never know.  It will remain a verbal debate.  Which is the most retarded thing ever in college sports, not settling it on the field, letting FRICKIN WRITERS of all people settle it.  The College post-season is disgusting, I'm gettin irritated just thinking about it.  If I was King for the day, one thing I would do is eleminate the bcs and I would implement some kind of committee that overrules the NCAA and all of their retardation.   Frickin college hoops tourney is one of the best things goin in sports.  If football came out with a tourney, it would be win win win for the fans.

Everyone knows the playoff would be the way to go.

The ONLY thing holding it up is bowl weekend activities. These bowl organizations rake in millions by having these people travel to see their universities play near these resorts. Most of these people bring loads of cash and take vacations doing this. The entire bowl structure probably makes anywhere up to a billion dollars in revenue every year or two. Keep in mind rental cars hotels, and most of the 70,000 that fill these stadiums stays all week, buys dinners etc.

There is no way these cities through the bowl organizations are going to give this economic boom up. Think about it, they can literally get together and hand the NCAA $50-100 million and know they easily make the money back. The only possible scenario for a playoff will come when these bowls get close to losing money. Then if someone will guarantee the revenue, then they will cave in. The fact of the matter is most of these bowls work because people travel to see their team play ONCE. If you start asking them to travel twice and within a 1 week span, they will choose to go the 2nd week.

All that being said, I wish they would just have a playoff.........Confused

No they have a system in place that earns millions if not billions of dollars for colledge universities Leave it be no changes needed. The pros have playoffs and they are the best at the game

NCAA football will be a joke until they can find a way to crown a legit champion.  No matter the arguments, I still think they would make even more money by incorporating a 16 team playoff into the bowl system.  The TV contract alone would make it worth it.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

I think so. How many times have we thought a team was dominate all througout season and they don't make it because of a fluke loss? I also think they should have it because teams from weakand lesser known  conferences should have a legitimate shot at making it. With the playoff system, they would.
