Re: How can the Cowboys make Roy Williams more effective on defense?
QUESTION: Does anyone know of a player that remained with the same team, changed his jersey number and was much improved? --I am looking for some historical evidence here. Thanks...

Re: How can the Cowboys make Roy Williams more effective on defense?
Thanks Rockyfan.
Kinda sounded like Roy put his ole friend Greg under the bus too. I gathered from reading the article that he is still blaming everyone else instead of himself.
Roy - read, study, practice, come to meetings, drill yourself to be the best you can and you will. Keep that lazy, it's his fault not mine attitude and you will deserve everything you get.
I also think Roy has been out here reading our posts and our negative comments. Roy needs to develop a tough skin and if we are wrong in our negative takes about him then prove us wrong don't whine to the media. He says he is a "grown man" , okay, act like one and shut up, learn your job and do it.
I used to have a sign on my desk that read "If you are a leader, lead; If you are a follower, follow; If you are neither then get out of the way. Which are you Roy??????

RockyMtCboyFan: Webber:
Just a question but has ESPN or the NFL Network reported on any of Roy's comments? I have been listening but have not heard.
Coach, you touched on Roy being called into the front office. Was there any discipline laid down to Roy or do we know? I just don't hear a lot where I live and I do not trust ESPN or NFL Network to spin the comments in a truthful and unbiased manner.
Someone please let me know.
Apparently it was to "clear the air" here is the story as reported in the Dallas Morning News: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/football/cowboys/stories/051108dnspocowlede.3a26947.html
Don't really know what happened in that meeting because Stewart amd Maxie didn't talk about it and probably won't. After the things Williams has said, I wouldn't take his word on any conversations especially that lack of communication crap. The only lack of communication is he's too lazy to study film or too stupid to understand it. If they're truly going to get him more involved and that includes the passing game, we've all been watching a different player. I am sure they want to see if they can salvage him for the money he is being paid and so far Watkins and Brown haven't stepped up, but maybe this year? I am sure of one thing. Brian Stewart addressed that comment about our corners earning the big bucks and not covering for him he made on Irvin's show. I don't care that much about the fans comment or the fear factor because those are personal comments but you just don't speak poorly of your teammates to the media and even insinuate something. It's just not done. In that game that Woody's arm was dangling by his side, in a losing effort, and he makes that tackle with his head and neck, no player was ever more justified in calling his teammates out for quitting and all he did was defend them. Like I've said a thousand times, posters we need leaders. Where are our leaders? Some make those comparisons about our 92 team, where are the leaders even close to any of those players, including QB.

Re: How can the Cowboys make Roy Williams more effective on defense?
Well, it seems our boy Tony has been dumped according to the Dallas Morning News. Maybe he will be like Billy Joel and become a better writer when he's on the mend. Joel wrote a bunch of syrupy crap when he was happily entrenched with his woman. Gets dumped and writes really good, angry stuff. Maybe Tony will focus more on the team now and less on the tabloid crap that goes with dating bimbos. Troy had his go around and you can't date girls competing for the camera. Tony needs a down to earth, good lovin woman not in search of fame or fortune. Gaga tata's can't hurt either. Hey, just lookin out for our boy, don't want him to give up everything but training camp is just around the corner and we want him focused. Once he gets us a ring, he can be a gutter surfing, bimbo boffing, bone jumping, *** tracking all night hound but first things first. Damn, that sounds good. Wonder if my wife would let me tag along. BTW, I sent a text messaage to him that Jessica is dumping him for Roy.

Webber:Guess the bimbo heard him singing. WOW hope he doesn't plan on becoming a singer after football, he'll go broke in a hurry!
Yep, he should have stopped that at "Take me out...", could have gotten quite few volunteers and since he was in Chi town, no shortage of wise guys to take care of him. His new nickname shoud be Romo Ono.

gp, now you're talking. Your wife let you go with me to follow Tony on the hunt? And why haven't we ever heard about TO's women? If we have to suffer through this bimbo gumbo, let's hear about all of them. I'll bet McQuistan is dating an animal, he looks like the type. Probably some biker chick with a dead squirrel helmet and riight and left tattoed on her ears. BTW, I found another word you can't use in case anyone is wondering about my *** above. I used the singular form of sluts and the system lets the plurals go because whoever set it up is as nasty as we are and wants to let some dirty talk get through. I assumed Tony would only want one but I will give him the benefit of his celebrity status and we will go sluts tracking.

Re: How can the Cowboys make Roy Williams more effective on defense?
The only way Roy can be more effective is playing as sixth man in basketball.
It is like we are going to rest our starters, and come in keep the game at a hands reach. When Roy is free to call his own defense signals, and knows to place himself in the right spot to make a play he is more effective. It is called "anticipation". I believe he's got that, he was a playmaker, game changer in college. Now he is asked to play a role he is not obviously comfortable with. The last line of defense. He is better suited to be the first line of defense.

Re: How can the Cowboys make Roy Williams more effective on defense?
Finally someone who's "man enough" to say things as ALL OF OUR EYES SEE IT!!! Dude, I'm totally with you and I respect your honesty. All of these other "wanna-be's" and "dreamers" can't seem to state the truth on anything, beginning with that idiot Spagnola. I am amazed at how many morons log in here. I am willing to bet NONE of these fools ever amounted to anything on the football field in their high school years. That's right, I said high school, because no true and successful football player would ever think Williams has a chance to change or is even good. He was only good his first year or two because Darren Woodson made him look good back there. Ever since Darren left, he's been nothing but the chump that he is. Point blank, the guy just can't play football. I can find thousands of high school athletes that can play way better than that fool. You're right, ever since he got that huge contract renewal, he's been a bust. That is the real Roy Williams and people simply can't accept that. So, thanks for stating the truth on here. You're one of the few who does.

Thanks.
