Re: Do the Cowboys have enough depth at receiver for 2008?
enough depth yes , enough quality depth - yea possibly , do they need more WR's ? -- not unless it is a very good quality starting WR who is cap-friendly , otherwise the core group of WR's currently on staff is plenty good enough to get the job done if they can stay healthy..... TG add's a dimension to the group that was not seen last year ( due to injury ) under JG new offense - his speed ( hopefully still good , after the rehab ) and experience will open the offense up even more then last year & make it even harder for Defense's to stop ,,, Crayton is a good WR and even though the last game last year stank for him becuase of a few bad plays , he still helped get this team to 13 - 3 and along those lines i can recall last year at about this same time everyone was on Romo and TO's case's for bad plays and dropped ball's --- so it shouldn't take anything away from Crayton's ability to play and as a matter of fact it doesn't change his playing ability,,,, as for the 3 back up's ---- Austin and Hurd neeed to step up and play at the high level that is required of them at this point in the NFL , this will be thier 3rd year each i believe , and its time to step up or get out , Stanback hopefully can stay healthy and contribute - everyone is appearently high on this kid for his speed and the progress he has made so far , and we all know the importance of TO to this offense , so nothing new there.... there was alot written about the WR's brought in after the draft as free agents and how good they appeared in shorts and helmit's and maybe one of them might have a shot at the roster if one of the previous players doesn't live up to his potential...... or better yet - perform at the level of play that should be required of them this year.... and quite frankly from this fan's point of view is required of them this coming season..... an injury free season and nothing less then a super bowl win for this fan........
Buckle up and Hang on - It's gonna be a great ride

I once posted EVERY number 2 Wideout in the GAME on this site to PROVE the point that those who were down on Crayton were simply full of it. The guy has a bad game. You cannot have those in the playoffs. Lets hope he does not again. But bottom line is the guy can play

Re: Do the Cowboys have enough depth at receiver for 2008?
I think Crayton was feeling the pressure of all his trash talk and just tried too hard in the play-offs. This year he needs to keep his mouth shut, work hard to get better and perform when called upon. I still think someone else needs to step up into the #2 spot, Crayton isn't good enough to perform consistently against one on one coverage if you ask me.

Oh... now you try to threaten with the powers that be... even though I made no derogatory remark about you, then you proceed to call me someone of the oposite Gender... are you serious?
Secondly, if you are going to provide stats... then be prepared to be called out on them! Don't just put the ones that suit your needs and then to hell with reality. Give the readers the whole truth... no more of this half truth stuff.
Point is, Crayton is a capable third... but do you think it is worth the risk to be without Glenn and have Pat the #2 guy again? I think not.
Hurd might be better than Crayton... and if he was throttled into the #2 roll, I am willing to bet he ends with more than 693 yards! Look at his reception to yards ratio... it is better than Pats.
And, did anyone read the article about Pat crying about his dropped pass in the playoff game and saying that people are being fairweather to say that he chokes... I don't recall bashing him for his poor performance in the playoff game... I just think, all in all, he is really not that good.
Look at Welker in Miami... then he moves to NE and goes for 1100 yards, as a third string to beat all. So, does NE have a better set of recievers than we do? Yes.... and what did NE do after failing in the playoffs and haveing a bad year by their standards? They went out and got guys for Brady... because they know he is a stud QB... Is Romo not worth the investment to let him Break the TD record for the league? I think he is, and instead of gambling that Glenn is going to be healthy at 34 and opting out of a surgery that is absolutely nescesary... we should put quality players in for Romo. We are paying him the Farm for a reason, lets make it pay off.
Another thing I noticed in the Crayton article was this... "I think criticism is going to come with the game," said Crayton, who replaced Terry Glenn as the No. 2 receiver and finished the year with 50 catches for 697 yards and seven touchdowns - all career highs. "I love it because it really lets you know what some people think about you. If there were people that were really fans throughout the whole season, and I drop a pass and all of a sudden I'm their worst enemy, then you know they're just fair-weather fans. I just take that as motivation. It really just opened my eyes that this thing really is a business." ... That sounds like a cop out and guy is nothing more than a #3 and should shut up and put up... not because of the playoff... but his inconsistency all around. Like I previously stated, look at his #s...
