34 walker 33 dorsett 35 calvin hill 43 don perkins

walker is correct but i'm pretty sure that 33 is duane thomas, calvin hill was 35 but that number is twenty something, i though 26, and don perkins i could not come up with
You may be right can not see his face very well on my puter how bout number 43 i guessed there
For 33 i was just looking at the style of the cover of the sports illustrated, it has that old early 70's cheesey font as opposed to that late 70's cheesy font. that's a great guess on 43, i think you're right. but i can't remember maybe somebody will help us out

Thanks, memory doesn't work like it used to, those high school years were really damaging.  3 out of 4, that's 75%, which is about average for me.

Perkins was from a loooong time ago, so I really didn't expect too many to guess him right. I thought Duanne Thomas would throw a few though, since some fans think Dorsett was the only starting back to wear #33. Thomas had such great potential, even won Rookie of the Year honors...too bad he developed a Coke/ attitude problem. He really could have had the career that Dorsett enjoyed.

DT was a jackass then he didn't talk to anyone, i think all year, and  to this day, DT is still a jackass only now he's bitter to go along with it.  I loved him as a player though.  I remember Lee Roy Jordan saying that he'd always make a point to say "hi" to duane even though he wouldn't say anything back.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Even if i do have mis-firing synapses

Sorry, after that last thread I blindly started I needed something to make myself feel better.  I'm sure this has been covered before also, but I wanted to take some time to remember some ex-Cowboys I became a big fan of even though they weren't exactly the all-pros or superstars and will never be in the Hall of Fame.

Tommie Agee #34 -- I really liked this guy.  He was overshadowed by playing the same position as Daryl Johnston, but Agee was pretty good at catching passes out of the backfield and blocking for Emmitt.  He wound up with 2 rings.  Hard to believe he was a Plan B free agent (you're getting old if you know what that means)

Tony Tolbert #92 -- okay, I'm biased because I went to college with him at UTEP.  I remember Tony "Too Small" Tolbert impressing people right away even though he was on a terrible Cowboys team.  He went on to become a really great pass rusher and earn 3 rings.

Preston Pearson #26 -- this guy seemed to always play on good teams no matter where he went.  I really liked him too.  When I was little I used to wonder if he and Drew were brothers.

George Teague #31 -- the defender of the STAR!  I think he deserved a medal for hitting that annoying 49ers WR at midfield.  He was flagged, but maybe the stupid refs should have flagged that WR the first time ran to midfield to celebrate... then they would have avoided the whole fiasco with Emmitt copying then the last one that ended in the hit.

Issiac Holt #30 -- part of the Herschel Walker trade.  I don't know if anyone remembers this, but in 1990 the Cowboys were falling to the Bucs.  Vinny Testaverde backed up and threw a pass to the flat that was intercepted and returned for a TD by Holt.  I say this play was the one that inspired the entire emergence of the Cowboys in the early 90s.  It seemed like that was the spark that ignited the dynasty and they played like they BELIEVED they could win from then on.

Tony Hill #80 -- not really an obscure player, but often overshadowed by Drew Pearson and Butch Johnson.  Hill caught many great passes including one in that huge comeback against the Redskins at RFK in the 80s.

Michael Downs #26 -- I remember when he and Walls were rookies together.  Downs never got to play on one of the Super Bowl teams, but was a reason the Cowboys were a good team in the early to mid-80s.

Okay... feeling much better now... I can probably stay on this one all day.

i will agree with all listed on this thread, however i would like to add 35- Scott Laidlaw and 27- Ron Flowers

Oops, should have read to see that it had already been answered.  I knew Duane Thomas wore #33, but still thought that was Dorsett.

Since then I can't believe that washouts like Timmy Smith and Nate Jones have defiled #33 in more recent years.

in recent years I truely miss good ole Billy Bates and the brick layers son Dexter Coackley. I sure wish he was able to fit into parcells defense. He and Dat ruled the middle.

I was so thrilled when Dex made the Cowboys team. Local boy makes good. Used to watch him play in high school down here. Thought back then he had a chance to go places.

Poor Dat.  I wish he was still around now that the team is doing better.

    Isn't he still on staff?
