I can handle the mystical stuff by letting go of reality for a couple of hours, but I can't stand when physics is thrown out the window.  You can't fight the laws of motion and movies that ignore these laws are joy killers.

You said it better than I did.  Yes

i guess i'll have to watch it again, in an attempt to redeem it......but i kind of miss the days of special effects before computer animation, etc.  you just couldn't do (dared not do) some of this over-blown, ridiculous stuff.....the scenes already mentioned were disappointing.

Laws of physics?  Like the law of motion in Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom where they fall of a cliff and land hundreds of feet down on snow and aren't even bruised?  Heck, they were in a liferaft that they had just used to jump out of an airplane!

We also had a part in Raiders of the Lost Ark where Jones and Marion push a huge ancient brick out of a wall to escape the Well of Souls.  It's bad enough that the wall just happened to be sitting there in broad daylight and no one ever though to look in there for centuries, but if you watch carefully you'll see that this huge brick that supported an enormous structure BOUNCES AWAY!  I'm not kidding.  Watch the shadow of the brick when they push it.

There's also the basic rule that you have to reload your pistol every so often.  In the bar fight Indiana Jones fires around 50 rounds and reloads once.

Then there's Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade.  These guys are running on the top of a moving train and they aren't blown away by the wind resistance?  I have to wonder how young Indy was able to escape from the magic box and get off of a moving train without the law of motion requiring him to bounce painfully at at least 60 mph on desert terrain.  Nope, he runs out on his feet!

IT was better when we were younger because we weren't aware of the laws of physics.  My 12yr son liked it, but I found myself thinking Oh yea, right, that's impossible.

I would probably enjoy the movie more if I was 12 years old as well.  It wasn't horrible, but I said this before, I felt like I was watching Goonies in some parts of it.  It somehow seemed less Indiana Jones-esque and more Goonies/family friendly.  Shia LaBeouf swinging through the trees?  Come on...one moment he's a mere greaser type biker without a cause...the next moment he's George of the Jungle and Luke Skywalker in one (with the sword fight).  That may seem awesome to someone 12 years old or younger, but to me as a 29 year old, it was simply silly and dumbed down the movie a bit.  Just my opinion.

Overall I did enjoy it because it's Indy but some of the action scenes were a bit far.  I have to keep in mind that it's just a movie for entertainment purposes.  Now the question that arises is, "Am I going to buy the 4 set DVD when it comes out?"

I most definitely will not get any of the 4 movies on DVD, blu-ray I will do.

Someone explain to me what "I like Ike" is about, if you remember that phrase in the film.  I can easily google it, but I thought I'd leave it to discussion for some of the educated to perhaps be enlightened and informed.
