I actually think its a great idea for Ellis to not practice until about midway through the training camp, just stay at home and stretch and keep your mouth shut...he has never been happy in Dallas..every year he whines and moans about something...he is a good player but how much more must we endure!
Yeah, and Spagnola likes him and even he's getting tired of defending him. This is three years in a row. First the move to LB, which he takes to the media, then the recovering from the injury, which he takes to the media and even sits out until he goes to Jerry's house and gets his way and now a younger 1st round pick is getting more of his reps and he takes it to the media. Why does he think we drafted Spencer in round 1? We've got share backs and now share OLB's which is a benefit to the TEAM. My problem with him is it's never about this isn't the best for the team, its all about him and always comes down to $. That and he uses the media to try and get his way. I hope he sits home, Spencer takes his job and one of our young LBs moves in and gets more playing time. I've heard all from Ellis I care to hear for the rest of his, hopefully short, career as a Cowboy. I have never heard a player walk out because he's not getting the number of plays he thinks he should and vowing not to return until he does. Ellis is not only not a leader and never has been, he is the opposite and I'm really glad we got Zach now.
And the dumb thing is that its OTA,not training camp...you would think he would wanna sit out and rest himself..he aint no spring chicken...i think he looks for a reason to b!tch and complain...its a shame cause he made the switch to lb and playes it well..he is affraid that Spencer is gonna get paid more than him and take his job....which is whats gonna happen..if Ellis wasnt so good i would say cut him..

Glad to see Roy out there practicing, Roy took some shots at the corners...playin the blame game and now the corners are takin some shots back..i dont like the way its goin down...they need to stick up for each other...its a team and they need to act like one or just not say anything to the press...i heard a comentator on the radio this morning say Roy has 3 years left on his contract...something tells me if he dont shape up this year he wont be in a Cowboys jersey next year....if he dont look good in training camp he may be cut this year, but do we have a replacement for him?
Some posters like Watkins but I haven't see it yet. He turned into t good special teamer last season though. And we sure didn't draft one. Got another DE to LB though.
I guess there wasnt alot of good ones in the draft this go around...Is it Watkins that is the tall one that likes to hit or am i thinking of Hamlin? By not picking up a saftey we are gonna be putting alot of eggs in Roys basket this year, everyone in the league knows he cant cover and they will single him out this year even more...hopefully we will get a GOOD pass rush this year and our new found corners can shut some wrs out...that will make Roy look good...lol
Yes, Watkins is 6"5" and he is fast, so he's still a promising player and entering that magical 3rd year. glimmer, you are right about Roy. After all of this attention to Roy's lack of coverage skills, even the dumbest OC we'll play is at the playbook figuring out how to get a WR in his area. I agree that our depth at CB will definitely benefit our D but with Phillips comments about running a 4 CB D to get a better pass rush, may not benefit Roy unless he's looking for some quiet time on the pine.
The road to the Superbowl is full of potholes, speed traps and road rage.

Why wouldnt they try to single him out, but hopefully he will drop a few pounds and pick up alil speed...changing the jersey # may change the attitude and bring back the hitting machine.....lol...probly not but we can wish...maybe Roy and Ellis can share a bench..

I agree. OTAs and training camp are the main places these coaches can take a look at younger players and make some assessments. He wants to play beyond his contract with us and keeping his workload down will only add to his value to another team when he leaves but he would rather whine about it. We drafted Spencer to take his job just like we drafted Jenkins to take Henry's, unless Jones gets it. We've been drafting and signing OL to try and take Columbo's, failed with Adams, and you don't hear any of these players complaining, it is the essence of the sport..competition for your job. Every year teams look to improve at any position for less money. And you don't hear any other incumbents complaining about it. They either buck up and beat the other player out, become a backup or sign with another team. Ellis didn't do himself any favors by going public on Williams either. Think Jerry's thinking about re-signing him? I don't.

They wont resign him... JJ will start shopping Ellis around if he is not already...and even though he complains alot he is a productive player so perhaps we could get a high draft pick for him...and maybe a change of scenery would help his attitude...he simply isnt a leader and thats what we need...I think we need to make sure we get Ware resigned and pay that man...he is getting better every year...not sure about Canty....what are your thoughts an him?
