lol, I think I owed you one....what do you think about old cry baby Ellis
i find Ellis to be annoying right now
yeah he's pretty unbelievable....just a big whiner baby
I can't believe he keeps finding new ways to complains about things...
At this point, If I'm the owner, I'd have to give him a piece of my mind...especially after her restructured his contract from all the whining he did before
I think Phillips should call him in and lay down the law, Jones needs to stay ouit of it. Wade: Stop airing your grievances publicly and play hard on the plays I send you in on or he'll get those reps too. I am trying to keep you fresh and will continue to do so during the season because it benefits the team and that is my number one priority, the team, not any one player. Now, you are either on this team or off it. Make up your mind because a teammate doesn't pull this type of crap when we are ring hunting. I do not want to read or hear in the media about your discontent one more time. You talk to me or Brian if you are concerned, not Jerry, not your teammates and sure as hell, not the media. I need you to help lead this team and leaders do not put their self interest above the team. You come back to me tomorrow either ready to step up or I will ask Jerry to seek a trade for you, those are the only two options.
The road to the Superbowl is full of potholes, speed traps and road rage.

I actually think its a great idea for Ellis to not practice until about midway through the training camp, just stay at home and stretch and keep your mouth shut...he has never been happy in Dallas..every year he whines and moans about something...he is a good player but how much more must we endure!
Yeah, and Spagnola likes him and even he's getting tired of defending him. This is three years in a row. First the move to LB, which he takes to the media, then the recovering from the injury, which he takes to the media and even sits out until he goes to Jerry's house and gets his way and now a younger 1st round pick is getting more of his reps and he takes it to the media. Why does he think we drafted Spencer in round 1? We've got share backs and now share OLB's which is a benefit to the TEAM. My problem with him is it's never about this isn't the best for the team, its all about him and always comes down to $. That and he uses the media to try and get his way. I hope he sits home, Spencer takes his job and one of our young LBs moves in and gets more playing time. I've heard all from Ellis I care to hear for the rest of his, hopefully short, career as a Cowboy. I have never heard a player walk out because he's not getting the number of plays he thinks he should and vowing not to return until he does. Ellis is not only not a leader and never has been, he is the opposite and I'm really glad we got Zach now.
And the dumb thing is that its OTA,not training camp...you would think he would wanna sit out and rest himself..he aint no spring chicken...i think he looks for a reason to b!tch and complain...its a shame cause he made the switch to lb and playes it well..he is affraid that Spencer is gonna get paid more than him and take his job....which is whats gonna happen..if Ellis wasnt so good i would say cut him..
I agree. OTAs and training camp are the main places these coaches can take a look at younger players and make some assessments. He wants to play beyond his contract with us and keeping his workload down will only add to his value to another team when he leaves but he would rather whine about it. We drafted Spencer to take his job just like we drafted Jenkins to take Henry's, unless Jones gets it. We've been drafting and signing OL to try and take Columbo's, failed with Adams, and you don't hear any of these players complaining, it is the essence of the sport..competition for your job. Every year teams look to improve at any position for less money. And you don't hear any other incumbents complaining about it. They either buck up and beat the other player out, become a backup or sign with another team. Ellis didn't do himself any favors by going public on Williams either. Think Jerry's thinking about re-signing him? I don't.
They wont resign him... JJ will start shopping Ellis around if he is not already...and even though he complains alot he is a productive player so perhaps we could get a high draft pick for him...and maybe a change of scenery would help his attitude...he simply isnt a leader and thats what we need...I think we need to make sure we get Ware resigned and pay that man...he is getting better every year...not sure about Canty....what are your thoughts an him?
Pay Ware!!!Hamlin needs to prove to Dallas that he's worth it...Canty is in the same boat...3 1/2 sacks and 46 tackles aren't enough to get "rained" on yet...If we don't sign Ware soon and he has his BREAK out year...He'll BREAK the bank!!!!

From what I've seen, while the 3/4 is heavy LB dependent, Phillips' utilizes the DL a little more than Parcells did. He likes to bring pressure from everywhere and anywhere. In the re-draft that ESPN conducted, Canty was a 1st rounder (along with Barber), which is where most thought he would go until the eye and knee thing. I not only like him as a player but as a teammate. If you haven't read how he views his teammates and how important being there is to him, you should. Very refreshing to hear a player talk that way. When they asked him about staying away because techincally, he doesn't have a contract (he hasn't signed the one year tender yet), he just laughed and said no way. That alone makes me a huge Chris Canty fan and elevates him well above Ellis as a teammate.

Re: Which player do you hope gets a long-term deal next?
Hamlin may hold out until he has to come in to play to get tenure this year....if he does he is a jerk!! The cowboys signed him when not many if any were interested in him. He has last year and this yrear to show a team he can play and get the big bucks. We have alot of young guys on the team and if one of them steps up (C. Brown is my pick) we won't try and resign him.If it looks like we need MR. Hamlin then Jerry will pay the big bucks for him. You can't keep buying and paying top price for every position....gotta use your draft. Hmmm maybe they should call that a Salary cap

LOL It sounds like Canty is the antiEllis...that is the teammates you want...my concern is that ..this team with all the talent we have could implode if we continually get players talking about one another,i know right now that its just a Roy thing and they all seem to be playing nice right now but then you get a Ellis complaining here and there and the next thing ya know it starts effecting how they play together as a team...it shouldnt be that way as they are pros...and with Ellis its a every year event so no biggie i guess...i just hate to see Roy slinging around excuses, then the corners throwin some small shots back...this is our year(last year should have been also)we are peaking and putting the final pieces in place...now is the time to focus and come together as a team not start eating our own...

You never know, apparently they made him an offer and the sides were way...way apart. He is on the team for this year, but remember as was pointed out above, the Cowboys took him and made him a "pro bowler" he works out in this system and I have read Jerry Jones say that he is a smart player and gets the guys in place. Doesn't mean that someone else can't, just that they haven't since Woodson left... It just wouldn't surprise me if he plays this year under the franchise tag and then plays it out next year in FA. And as has been so well put; you cannot pay top-dollar at every position and have them all locked-down for guaranteed long-term contracts.

He is asking I believe between 5-10 mill a yrar...... I think we can get better in the secondary without him. Roy cannot call defense for the audiblies called by the offense. One of the other guys is going to have to step up. Ellis is going to find it hard for a pro his age to sit out training camp and get the bucks from another team. These pros do not need all of training camp to perform but you have to have enough players to practice with the young guys.....They need to figure out a way to get them on the field and not over work the under paid babies!! Where is his baba??
