This is the 11th time these two teams have squared off in the finals, this is the 29th time the Lakers have reached the finals and the 20th for Boston. The record so far between the two teams is 8-2 in favor of the C's. Together these two teams have combined for 30 championship titles 14 for LA and 16 for Boston. With all that history in mind this is set to be the biggest final in a while, I was rooting for this matchup and now that it's here I can only hope that it lives up to what it should be.
check here if anybody wants to know more about the rivalry

Re: Lakers vs. Celtics XI
I don't know the two teams well enough to say which team has the advantage but I do know both teams have a lot of talent so it should be a good series, hopefully it goes 7 hard-fought games that we can all enjoy.

The Celtics are the only good thing about Boston, in my opinion. That and the sitcom "Cheers" that played throughout the 80's and into the early 90's.
I'll be rooting for the Celtics.

Lakers. They beat my Spurs honorably except for D-Bag Vujacic taking that last shot at the end of game 5.
I'll be rooting for them... except for Vujacic.

Celtics, because Pierce, Allen, and KG all deserve a ring. They've wasted away on terrible teams for long enough.

Presto512:Life long Celtics fan living in Texas, I like all Texas teams but grew up a fan of Larry Bird. This doesn't mean I like the Patriots fyi. I didn't want the Spurs to lose because everyone seems to be down right now do to losing to the Lakers, but I see alot of Spurs fans now hoping the Celtics take them out. I'll say Pierce is going to simply destroy the Lakers and average about 35 PPG.
Pierce is gonna drop 35 each game? No way not with Pierce having to score on a solid Laker defense and probably having Kobe guarding him . I think we're gonna make Ray Allen be the one to step up and not let Pierce or Garnett be that guy.

Re: Lakers vs. Celtics XI
YOU BETTER RECOGNIZE. The Lakers beat an older Spurs team while the Celts beat an old Pistons team. The Lakers are playing well as a team 1-9. The Celts have the Three and then what? Kobe is at his highest point ever, unstopable when he desires. Kobe said that the finals are the real post-season. That is the mentallity of a champion. KG was all giddy just to be in the finals. KG is a hell of a baller but he has run into what Karl Malone kept bouncing his head off of, the bestest badest kickassest cut your heart out player in the game. But hey, look at it this way, You had a great regular season. He he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he ha ha ha ha ha. The patsies and everything else in Boston sucks.

Re: Lakers vs. Celtics XI
Oh they are still playing in the NBA? I am sorry once the crybaby
(Kobe), the mercenaries (the Celts), the most boring team in sports
(Spurs), and the perennial losers (Pistons) made it to the each
conference finals the NBA lost all interest and with good reason. This
post-season has ruined the reputation for the NBA and I would be
surprised if anyone even watches the finals. The officiating has been
terrible and decided the outcomes of almost all the series, the last 4
teams left were the worst ones to actually draw interest in the league,
and has done nothing to fix it's image as a terrible professional
league. David Stern needs to retire. Wake me when the finals are over.
Redskins owner, George Preston Marshall, met the Dallas team with opposition. The owners bought "Hail to the Redskins" and refused to allow Marshall to play the song. Marshall changed his mind, and Dallas, was granted an NFL franchise on January 28, 1960.

How do you know we will wake you? Maybe we will let you sleep till February when the SB is over.
