Kevin Burnett -- now a Dallasnews.com guy like the rest of us
-- has known Pacman Jones since the combine prior to both players'
rookie year. So he was happy to hear this afternoon that Jones will be
allowed to join the club this week.
"He deserves it, and the reason why is, another infraction and he's
gone," Burnett said. "That's implied. They're basically saying, 'Yeah,
you can go back out there, but you know that if anything happens,
you're gone.' I do know he's a great player, and he'll be an asset to
the team."
Burnett also thinks that since Pacman's on thin ice with the league,
and will be for the foreseeable future, that the Cowboys won't need to
step in and interject in his off-field life.
"I don't think we're going to have to do anything," Burnett said.
"I've said it before. He's on his last leg with the league. I hate for
it to be like that, but that's the case. And I don't think he'll do
anything to be jeopardizing his career."
One thing that most players who have been around Pacman in the past
have said is that he's not a disruption in a team setting. Likewise,
Burnett says he's never had a problem getting along with the embattled
corner.
"I've known him for a little bit, and in the time I've been around
him, I've got nothing but positive things to say about him," Burnett
said. "I'm glad he's on our team. I've always thought highly of him as
a player, and it's always a plus to play with other good players.

Here's Jerry Jones' statement on Pacman's "limited" reinstatement today ...
"This limited re-instatement is a step in the process. Adam is aware
of the things that need to be done in order to take the next step."
Hmmm still don't care if he gets to play again, Jenkins will probably be better than Jones at some point and Scandrick is automatically an upgrade over the 2 departed reserves from 2007.
