    Congrats Ken Griffey Jr.

Thanks for doing it the right way.  Too bad your career was so injury plagued.  Too bad that the year of the strike the Mariners were one of the best teams in baseball.  You still have the sweetest swing I've ever seen.  I will always treasure your Upper Deck rookie card above all others.  You'll always be 'the kid' to me!!Yes

I remember I was at a card shop one day when a friend of mine from school walked in and sold a Griffey Jr. (upper deck rookie) and other rookies at the time for a total of about 10 bucks. Had to be 1990. Griffey came in with alot of hype and he lived up to it.

Grif would have smoked Bonds and Aaron without the injuries. I hope he keeps playing for a long time

    Popcorn anyone?

Or if Ted Williams hadn't spent 4 years in WW II in the prime of his career.

Or if Ed Dalahanty hadn't gotten on the train.

Or if ARod would quit swinging at everything.

If Gehring hadn't come down w/ his horrible malady.

If Shoeless Joe had been allowed in MLB.

If Clemente's plane hadn't gone down.

If steroids had never entered baseball.

If Dizzy Dean hadn't worn his arm out at a young age.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Ken Griffey is the greatest talent to not reach his potential.  Bo Jackson is second.  (I put Bo second because his playing career was so short.)

Bo was a .275 hitting strikeout machine who hit about 20-25 HR's per year.  Nowhere near Griff's level.  Bo might have been a great baseball player if he'd have concentrated on it, but as it was, he was more of a stadium filler and just a decent player.

Do you mean he's a bust and never lived up too the hype he was given? If thats soo, your wrong by far. What about Ryan Leaf who had tons of potential, Josh Hamilton who wasted his first 8 yrs on drugs, i mean the list goes on and on of players who had potential and didn't have 1 or 2 good seasons. Griffey has had a great career and a first ballot HOF. he's considered one of the top 10 best overall players of all time. Injuries were done on the feild playing reckless which made him as good as he was. Tell me the players that are better then griffey JR overall including running, feilding and hitting.
