CubeJack:
Pffft! Larry Allen tainted his legacy when he decided to wear the urine gold helmet of the stupid 49ers. May he be enshrined in the Lipstick/3Com Park Hall of whatever they call it and never be affiliated with the Cowboys again!
Anyone who wears that unhydrated-colored helmet deserves to be forgotten and loses their rights to be called Cowboys -- that includes YOU Ken Norton Jr.
What about Charles Haley, Cube??? Remember he went back to the Niners after leaving Dallas. Look, I hate those Turds by the Bay more than anyone that has ever hated them. Hell, I live 90 miles away from the Stick and only 60 miles from Oakland. I'm surrounded by tick turds that come out of the closet when their teams win and pout all week long when they lose, one being my step-dad (SF) and the other being my best friend (Oak). But I will tell you this right now, the only memory I will ever hold of Allen being in SF, was when the Cowboys came to town in 2005 and LA was ready to choke the life out of Jose Cortez. Allen is and always will be a Cowboys in my mind.

Bah! Charles Haley is also a urine-helmet wearing 49er! Tony Tolbert (alumnus of the Univ. of Texas at El Paso!) deserves more of our praise! Other players who deserve to be remembered for playing at Lipstick/3Com Park are Jose Cortez, Antonio Bryant and even Deion "I mugged Irvin and got away with it" Sanders!

Like any true Cowboy fan I despise anything that has to do with the city of San Francisco and its lame excuse for sports teams! May Joe Montana get stalked by a bunch of crazed Barry Manilow fans!
I went to college with Tony Tolbert, so I'm biased in that respect.

You go with your bad self CubeJack, I love to hate the sorry ass winers too. I agree that Haley, Sanders, Norton are in to many fortywiner memories to include them in the Ring of Honor.

Hey listen, I live in the hell hole that is 49er and Raider country. Now I could and would agree with Sanders and Norton and I'm not looking to put Haley in the Ring of Honor, but Haley was directly responsible for helping get the Cowboys into and winning 3 Super Bowls, not to mention, the man has 5, count 'em 5 SB rings, more than any other player in the history of the game. It was Haley that showed the Cowboys back to "Doomsday" and was the leader of that early mid-90's defense. How can you just shun him like that? Much as in the case of LA, Haley was no longer truly wanted in Dallas and he felt like he had more to give. Can't fault him for not wanting to be put on a shelf before he felt he was ready. Besides, any one that has the nerve to urinate on Seiferts car is OK by me.

Re: Larry Allen joins the HOF Class of 2013
I missed the "First Take", but Larry Allen is still listed as an unrestricted free agent on the 49er site...and as a "current player" on NFL.com.
So, has he officially announced his retirement, or is he "still speculating"...which seems to be the only thing I can find story-wise via Google.
Also, if he hasn't made it official (with a press conference)... will he do it as a Cowboy, do ya think?
And what do you guys think are the odds of him being Jones' next pick for a Ring of Honor slot?

My original post on this was based solely on what "First Take" had reported.

I know it was.
And from everything I've read, most people feel he's a shoe-in for the HOF. I'm just wondering whether he did or is retiring as a Cowboy (like Smith did) ...and whether he'll be selected to the Ring of Honor.

Mr.Cowboy, I'm not shuning his talent or responsibilities for the early - mid 90's defense, I'm just agreeing with the "old school," if you will, fans that can't accecpt a 4tywiner as a true blue and silver Cowboy, to the bone. He was great, and I loved what he brought to those teams, but I was watching all of that happen with vivid memories of Haley, the 49er.

Your sooo right mr cowboy, how any true Cowboys fan talk bad about Haley is beyond me - think about this - when you talk about those SB winning Cowboys teams and you think about the Offence - who were the most important players - of coarse ppl say the Tripletes. Now think about the Defence who is the first player you think of as having the biggest impact - I go with Haley every time, after that Woody. Jimmy knew he had a good D - but he also knew he needed one more piece to make that D great - that was a premieir pass rusher, Haley is what put that D over the top.

You got that right nyc-cowboy. The 90's teams didn't have a good pass rush until we got Haley. He was sort of a problem child for the Niners but Jimmy got him and straightened him out in a hurry and there was none better in his era that could pass rush like him. Okay Lawrence Taylor but those 2 can be mentioned in the same breath. Also Bruce Smith and Reggie White Haley dominated while he was here. We got him and Jay Novacek about the same time and quickly dominated the 90's. He was that good. I'm surprised Haley was not a 1st ballot HOFer with 5 rings to his credit. It seems some Cowboys fans place a different standard in choosing who goes into the Ring of Honor and HOF. I don't care how many teams or whomever they were that he played for but he was a monster for us and did put our defence over the top. We had very good talent on those defences but they didn't get that good until we got a premier pass rusher. We could do so much more on defence because of Haley. Just like we are gonna do in this era with Demarcus Ware.

The all time greatest offensive lineman *in my opinion anyway* I think he is a sure fire first ballot Hall Of Famer.

Pffft! I say no "true" Cowboys fan can consider an unhydrated-gold-colored helmet-wearing 49er to be a Cowboy. The 49ers can have him and I hope they all become giddy with joy when he's annoying put into the Hall of Fame alongside Barry Montanilow, Stephanie Young, Veronica Lott and Geri Rice.

Read somewhere that Jerry is going to try to do what he did with Emmitt sign Allen to a 1 day contract and let him retire as a Cowboy
I'd like that.
Same here. But what if they can't come to terms? JK. But maybe even if he signs the one day contract, maybe the HOF will pull a Gary Carter on us and force him to retire as a FortyWhiner
Go Cowboys, Mets, Suns, Villanova, Blue Jackets!
