    The Happening?

Anyone else heard that this sucks ass in such a manner that it might not be able to be measured by mortal man?

I went and saw Lady in the Water when it came out. The woman with me at the time just went and saw Happening. We agreed that LITW was quite possibly the ***ing dumbest movie in the history of history. She says Happening is worse. Her exact description, "M. Night hit rock bottom in LITW, got a backhoe and kept on digging."

Did a little research, turns out every major studio turned down this script.

I thought LITW was contrived during a heavy pot smoking event between a group of high school drop outs. Apparently, once they saw the end of LITW on the screen they thought to themselves: SPOILERS....

Hey man, like what if, (inhale) what if like you know, when people get all negative and hate on weed, like if the weed got mad and made them quit. (exhale)

YEAH man, totally. Like weed is from the Earth and if you hate weed, you hate the Earth so like the Earth would make the weeds and trees kill you so you could never bring down another person....

Aw totallly dude. Yeah, I hate when my buzz is killed by negativity, and like weed makes my buzz, so my weed hates negativity too.

Righhhhhhhhhhhhhht man. Righhhhhhhhhhhht. So like the plants and trees would hate negative people and like the gods of weed would make people die and stuff so no more lost buzzes.

Dude! Your so right. Load that bowl up man. But what if like, we, you know, got really high and like we were trying to escape the killer plants man because like we didn't know the plants were killing us and like the plants didn't know not to kill us?

Man, we'd go out into nature. Be one with the Earth, escape it all man.

Dude? Shouldn't we like stay inside and like just get high and hope like the toxins wouldn't get us inside? Wouldn't going outside be like, the worst thing? I mean like, if the Earth saw us killing weed to smoke it, wouldn't it be like best to stay inside where the Earth couldn't kill us?

Naw man, your just crazy. We'll make a movie about this, make it where like......Aw man, I'm too high.

Maybe You Can Go Home Again....

Thanky for the heads up.  I'll maybe rent it.

Man, if it's really worse than LITW, Shammy needs to reassess his movies.  His previews usually make his movies seem mysterious.  I remember the one about the village.  I was so disappointed.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

This movie should have been called "The Crappening". This was quite possibly the most asinine movie Ive ever seen. I thought it couldn't get any worse than Lady in the water....boy was I wrong. I want my 9 dollars back!!!!!!!

I didn't think The Village was that bad, but i got to agree his last 2 have sucked rocks. It's really disappointing because his first few were really pretty good. Looks like he peaked with Unbreakable and went on a slide from there. Signs and The Village were borderline IMO then Lady and The Happening tanked.

    I have never liked Shallamalawn.

    Ever.

    his movies are typically crap.

And I am usually one that likes the strange.

I wouldn't really expect a teenager to understand Shyamalan's movies. And considering his first one came out a couple of years after you were born, "ever" isn't that long.

But one can go back and watch them. Really that isn't hard. :P

I understand them. I just find them boring. And disappointing. Signs, the Village, Lady in the Water... Anytime a trailer comes up with the "M. Knight Shamallamalawns latest epic movie"

    I'm like... damn... again?

You'd come off better renting a blank tape instead of The Happening

It did look really cool... I'll give it that. Maybe Shamallamalawn should just work oon directing trailers? He seems to have some of the best.

Yep, this guys best work is behind him and I don't think he can top it (The Sixth Sense and Signs).  I enjoyed those two films and sadly, anything else he has come out with has been a wreck.  Very disappointing.  The funny thing is, I bet in 30 or 40 years he'll be hailed as a tremendous director that we all took for granted for the messages and themes in his films, much like Alfred Hitchcock back in the 50's and 60's.

Hitchcock to me is one of the best directors that ever lived, IMO. Wink

That's cool, I can see where you're coming from...he's certainly a great director that has stood the test of time.  He's directed some great films with one of the best actors that ever lived, IMO (that being Jimmy Stewart).
