I have an Epiphone G-400 (SG style), and I think the same. Epiphone are quality guitars.
I'm glad you like it.

I think the only difference between Epiphone and Gibson is the location of manufacture. Gibsons are MIUSA, Eps are made elsewhere. Not sure about that though.

Even if i had 3000 to spend on a guitar, i don't think i could. i'd be afraid i'd hurt it. at least if this one gets knocked over, (which when you're out playing, could happen) i won't be happy, but i won't want to kill myself either.
They are really good functional instruments.
Don't care if they tape us, they can know what we're gonna do, they won't be able to stop it. csf

Just like anything else each person has their own preferences when it comes to guitars.
I've never played a Les Paul that I liked, and I've played a few dozen, including some $3,000 plus models.
For whatever reason I just love the RG series Ibanez guitars, and my main three gigging axes are different RG models.
When it comes to strings I always play 9's (even on my Ovation acoustic/electric that's in my avatar pic) but I hardly ever break strings. I hardly ever replace them either, for that matter!
I'd bet that the strings on my main RG have been on there since I bought it 5 years ago or so. I've probably played it a couple thousand hours in that time, and have used it on at least 40 recorded songs. I do use "finger ease" which helps keep them from rusting, so right now the strings still sound great, and have no sign of rust/extreme wear.
I don't use my tremelo, but I do bend the strings quite a bit, so I don't know why I just never seem to break them anymore. I used to break them pretty frequently (especially the high E) in my first dozen years of playing or so. I'd guess that my picking technique is the main thing that has improved over the years, and that was probably the reason I broke so many before (in the past I have broken a few while TUNING though lol)

I'm a bender too. I still love my Ibenez, the sound is vastly different from this guitar. I'm not shocked, maybe a little suprised. The pick ups on my SZ are 10x's hotter than on the Epiphone. Well, anyway it's new and i'm just happy to have a new guitar and there's nothing like sharing it with a few hundred thousand other people.

Lol if it does, I'm the biggest rockstar on this board. I was off work for a month looking for a job when I moved back to my hometown, and I played that game for hours on end. I love it!!!
Just for the record......playing Guitar Hero is to guitar what playing Madden on the Playstation is too playing football.
