  • try adding about tablespoon of kosher salt.  Yes, it sounds funny but it actually brings out more flavor.  Bake cookies.  One batch w/o the kosher salt and one with.  You will be amazed.  I was...

Makes a big difference. But as he said only use salt that is heavily rabinical.

I do not use salt in anything but the guys are right it will improve the flavor Take some sea salt to a Rabi and have it blessed J.K.

Grizz  for another batch try blueberries or strawberries in place of peaches the base works with almost any fruit. Ive done it with apples mangos even honeydew mellons But use 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of salt not a tablespoon I would lean towards 1/2 since you are making small batches If ya want to get fancy add a teaspoon or 2 of cream cheese

    Re: Homemade Icecream

Ya know, I did Google this, but I did not find one recipe that I thought would be simple and good. The deal is we are throwing a BD party for one of my granddaughters and it is gonna be huge. There is 2 sets of great-grandparents, several aunts and uncles (both sides of the family will be there) and lots of kids. There will be a contest between the two families for the best icecream and I so wanna win because the other family does not like my son (the father of my granddaughter). Each family is to provide 4 gallons of icecream. I know I will use your recipe. If I use different fruit I guess I could use it for all 4 gallons. Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok, it has been decided in order to keep it fair............each family has 4 gallons of icecream, the icecream is in unmarked containers and the "most eaten" decides the winner. If it is too close to call the kids will decide. Keep in mind there will be close to 150 people in attendance. My greatest concern is the icecream melting, but everyone is telling me that won't happen because the containers will be packed in ice.
