So this is my first time trying to make one and there are 10 teams in my league.
I just wanted to know what you guys thought.
QB --- Starter - Tom Brady Backup - Philip Rivers
HB --- Starters - Fred Taylor, Selvin Young Backup - Ray Rice
WR --- Starters - Fitzgerald, Welker, Wayne. Backups - Derrick Mason, Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd
TE --- Starter - Chris Cooley Backup - Donald Driver
D/ST--- Starter - Chargers Backup - Giant
My first selection was Brady of course since all of the premier hbs in the league were taken and I figured he was a safer bet than Peyton or Romo since Harrison is getting ancient and Romo isn't quite on Bradys level statistically yet.
I chose Rivers later on because it was either him or Garrard... and Garrard never throws the ball so I figured Gates, Chambers, and LT would make Rivers look pretty good. However, I will probably only have Phil start 3 games for me.
In round 3 of the draft, all of the hbs were gone except for Fred Taylor and Barber.. the guy before me (who was a hardcore cowboy fan and only seemed to pick cowboy players) nabbed MB3 so I took Fred and figured he would have another stellar year... he is a safe pick.
Selvin Young was selected later on. He plays for Denver and anyone can run well with Denvers system. Selvin seems to be THE GUY that Shannahan starts... Hopefully he stays healthy!
I dont know how durable McGehee is... so I picked up Ray Rice as a back up for my HBs. I'm hoping he gets some time because I think he could be great in the NFL.
In Round 2 the WRs were basically untouched. I took my pick of the litter and chose Wayne (moss was gone). With Marvins status a bit uncertain Wayne could be in for another really big year.
Fitz was taken in round 4.
In round 5 I secured a tightend. Witten and Gates were gone and I forgot all about Gonzo. But Cooley is great too. So I picked him up.
After that, I took Elam over Venitarri because I figured the Falcons would need him more than the Colts need Ven. I kick myself for that move now... but hey who cares..
I grabbed Welker because the guy is awesome to have for 3rd downs. I expect him to have another good year with Moss demanding double teams.
And everyone else... just picked because there was nothing else that I recognized... :P
So how did I do???
