    Tee it up with Tiger

I found one of the platinum colored golf balls.  I was wondering if I should keep it, or put it on ebay to see what I can get out of it.  I know its not the same, but a guy just sold a half eaten apple by Tiger for over $35,000!!!!

umm...don't you get to play with Tiger.  Or is it just a 'chance' to?

They draw 24 names out of 2000.  It would be pretty cool to play a hole with tiger

Last year when they started this deal I thought that they marketed it in such a way that it sounded like you'd get to play a ROUND with Tiger, and not just a hole or two.

I read a deal about it later and basically if you are one of the few chosen they pair you up with another winner, and you get to play a hole or two with Tiger.....which would be cool, but considerably less exciting than getting to actually play a round with the man!

The Tour accuracy balls are just too easily damaged IMO......I tend to cause scuff marks on the pretty much every time I hit a wedge shot....and if they hit a cart path/rock/tree they are usually pretty much ruined.

A ball that I've fallen in love with this summer is the cally HX Hot Bite.  Yeah it's a cheaper version of the ProV1.  Two big differences are shots around the green don't check up as much (I don't know if any ball ever will, this is why I love the ProV1-just a little pricey) and it the cally scuffs up quite a bit.  I just wish it was bit more durable.  I can let go the ability to 'check' because half the time 'checking' will leave me short anyway.  Don't get me wrong, it does check up, though.

I rely so much on the spin of the Pro V1 on short shots that I just can't find another ball that I like as well.

If I had the short game of the typical average golfer I'd probably be a 12-15 handicap instead of a 2!   I practice a LOT from 40 yards and in and those shots save me a lot of strokes on the course for sure.   Sometimes when I've got a lot of green to traverse I have to chip with lower lofted clubs (7 or 6 iron, or sometimes even a hybrid) to counter the spin of the Pro V1, but it sure is great to have that stopping power when you short side yourself!!!   Big Smile

There are some really good "cheap" balls out there these days......the Pinnacle Exception is a very good ball for the money, Top Flite has a new 3 piece ball I haven't tried yet, the new Burner TP is a good all around ball, and Callaway has several good reasonably priced balls.

Right now I'm basically just using the gift certificates I win in scrambles to buy my Pro V1s.    It sure is nice for the golf to help pay for itself now and then!   Wink
