I am not a GB fan, nor a Favre fan, but I would like to see him play some more. Perhaps we would meet him in the play-offs at Texas Stadium!

Think about it guys...Brett Favre has been playing this game for his entire life.  I'm guessing he played it in elementary school in a kids league.  There is no way anybody can just up and walk away from it like that. Football is all he knows since thats all he's ever done.  Give the guy a break and sympathise with him.  Or at least stop bashing him.

    (1) I'm really tired of "thinking about Brett Favre", and was hoping for 5 years of solitude before his qualification/induction into the HoF stirred up the hornets' nest again. Yes, he could play football well. No, he's not perfect. and NO! He's not the end-all and be-all of the NFL (but I swear some folks around here and in the media think he is the best thing since sliced cheese.)

    (2) Yes, he's played forever and loves the game. Good for him. Key word here (in the frozen tundra area) is "forever"...and others would like to play, too.

    (3) I can understand not wanting to give up doing something you love. Talent & heart are essential in life as well as football. But, if he really truly 100%, no doubt about it, LOVED it, then WHY did he retire...or even considered retiring...EVERY off season for 5-plus years now? Because let me tell you...THAT has been THE story CONSTANTLY for more than half a decade now, and I'm really tired of him not making up his d--- mind. If you love it and can play, then play. If you can't play, quit. If you don't love it anymore, retire!

    (4) I don't think wishing, praying, or screaming for a full-grown pro athlete to make up his mind is bashing him, but I can't sympathise with a millionaire who seems (for YEARS) to be teetering on his commitments.

Yes  I agree, we aren't bashing the guy. Just sick of the year after year, will he...won't he...will he

The Pack front office sitting there twiddling their thumbs while the diva QB decides what he wants to do. He should not have retired then. I find it to be poetic justice that now he has to sit and wait for them to decide. If I was the Pack, I'd do nothing. Sit there on your ass in front of those cameras and cry, we are done with you.

What a class act. That's nice that he feels a little bit bad for Aaron, then goes on to mention his two injuries.

"The one thing in this, I do feel bad for Aaron a little bit," Favre said. "I think he'll do a fine job, to be totally honest with you, I do. He has been injured. I mean, the two injuries are not his fault. Couldn't control. I know this has been tough on him. I think he'll do a fine job. And this has nothing to do with him, this whole deal."

No one has cared less about this than me, but, that high school team he's been working out with.  How cool would it be if you were in high school catching passes from a future hall of famer?

Don't care if they tape us, they can know what we're gonna do, they won't be able to stop it.

HAHA, No kidding. I thought about that, as I watch the NON-STOP coverage of Brett on NFL Network.

Here's how this whole situation could be resolved and tied-up in a neat little bow...

Aaron Rodgers is the key. What if he were to agree to back-up Favre for one more year? Hear me out on this...

Imagine if he were to hold a press conference and say - "Brett is a future Hall Of Famer and I'm not. He almost got us to the Superbowl last year, and if he wants one more shot at it, after all he's done for the Packers over the years - he's earned it."

Aaron Rodgers - Would come off as a selfless "class act" who only wants what's "best for the team". His popularity would SOAR, and he'd be given a ton of slack (by the fans in Green Bay and elsewhere) when he finally DOES start. Should Favre TANK this year, Aaron can come to the RESCUE...

The Packers can bring back Brett guilt free and avoid any Cheesehead backlash for kicking him to the curb. If Favre tanks, bench him and put in Rodgers.

Brett "The Flake" Favre stays with the Pack for another year and gets one more shot.

The Cheeseheads would eat it up too.

Behind the scenes, Rodgers, Favre, and the Pack would have to "agree" that this would be a 1 YEAR ONLY deal. If Favre stinks, he's getting benched. And no matter what, at the end of year - Superbowl or not - he retires for good.

Don't get me wrong - I think Favre is being a jerk, and should stay retired. But that's not going to happen.

And neither is this Soap Opera of a scenario...

    SPANKS :)

HAHA!! Poor Susan Lucci, she is going to lose again. Brett has this thing wrapped up, LMAO.

I agree with the post a few blocks up too, sure Rogers could do that, but in fairness to him...he shouldn't have to. The guy has never complained or bitched publicly about Favres BS. Now he finally get's his shot, and Favre pulls this punk move, changes his mind yet again. THEN has the nerve to say, I feel a little bit bad for Aaron.

F-that if I'm Rogers, I stand pat and expect to be the starter.

I saw on NFL Network where even Al Harris, a current Packer comes out and says, "No offense to Aaron, but yeah I want Brett back". I can only imagine what that does to a guy who has sat patiently and waited his turn, to have his own teamates not want him starting.

Of course Al "I came out of the womb bumping and running" Harris wants Favre back.  If Favre comes back, all the press will be about Brett, and Harris will (once again) get a free pass for routinely getting absolutely TORCHED everytime he faces a quality receiver.  TO made him look half retarded last year, the Giants receivers completely owned harris too in the NFC title game.  Every time, and I mean EVERY time Harris faces a top notch receiver, he gets shelled.  No exceptions.

If I were Rodgers, I would not want Harris vote.  why would you want an overrated jackass in your corner.  So far, the two most overrated primadonna jackasses on the GB roster (Favre and Harris) are apparently against Rodgers.  And if I were Rodgers that is just the way I would want it.  I'll say this, even though I can't stand Favre, at least he's earned some (not all) of his hype.  I still think he's overrated (no where near greatest ever imo) but at least he can lay claim to being a future Hall of Famer.  Harris is a total douchebag.  He couldn't cover Stephen hawking unless he was allowed to hold and interfere on every play.  harris sucks.  This is just more evidence what a douchebag loser he is.

HAHA, well yeah maybe that is why Al is doing that. I was just thinking from Rogers standpoint that that would be rough to hear.

They had Brett's BFF Steve Marucci (sp) up there too. He's up there saying, Aaron is a young guy, look at how long Steve Young had to wait for his turn.

I just think the whole thing stinks for a guy like Aaron that has played the 'team' guy and never complained all this time.

I agree Brett is not the best ever. IMO
