Thanks for that info. I'll lay off the griping, cause I know how hard it is to do something with somebody breathing down your neck. I'll try to be constructive in my suggestions.
Good call Kimball, we can probably get more achieved as members that way!

I don't like it, but I have no choice in the matter if I want to continue posting.

Re: Opinion about the new forum relocation

I tried, but I'm giving up on the new one. I think the killer was when I tried to post a photo and instead of letting me hotlink it made me select the photo from my desktop and scaled it down to postage stamp size. Posting photos is a big deal to me on a message board. I'm not angry, as the Cowboys are a business entity, and have apparently decided they need to take much more control over content posted on the message boards. A lot of the structural stuff is annoying, too. It's very difficult to follow a thread because of the absence of nested quotes, not being able to go back to a thread at the point you left off, all the stuff other folks have complained about.

The pages seem way too busy with unnecessary graphics. One of the things that bothered me a ton at the new site was the signatures. I don't know why they seem so much more intrusive over there, particularly when a couple of guys with big signatures get a back and forth going. I noticed when trying to read one thread that the entire screen on my computer was taken up with two copies of the same photo of TO standing on the star, an advertisement for tickets down the right hand page, the avatars on the right and the total content of posts (what I was looking for) that fit on the screen was "all right." and a response "good enough." While I love graphics, the signatures are simply a repeat of the same thing over and over and over and over. They get boring and annoying after a while, particularly when they're so frikking big they take up twenty times as much space as the content of the post. Under preferences here, you could turn them off. It may have been possible over there, but I couldn't find the option.

I hear ya' Rich, all the stuff you mentioned has definitely been brought to the awareness of the administrators.  I think it is agreed all these things would be considered important issues and should be standards on our board.  Hopefully the new software has the capability to do everything that's deemed necessary to make the experience enjoyable.  I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for now...

Re: Opinion about the new forum relocation

We're supposed to be gaining control soon over the SIG's again.  The reason they are big is because people don't read the forum rules (52,000 pixels maximum) and we can't remove the SIG and post a comment about its size.

When we have that ability again we will enforce it more.

    Drewstar:

I miss the "active" threads section, where you could just look and see which topic from ANY forum was hot. Also, the "my disscussion section". Where you could simply and quickly look at most recent response to your last post.

The new site is a pain in the rear. Stupid ads all over. Looks cheesey as hell and has no character like this one did. No Ring of Honor. No "where your from" on the avatar.  And is all and all a big fat dissapointment.

But we have no choice. Being that is was force fed to us. So I guess I'll have to live with it. But I can already see my decrease in posts. Just to much to look at all at once.

I miss the "active" threads section too - I like knowing what's being talked about right now.  But, if you click on your user name it'll take you to your profile page and the discussions you've most recently posted in...
