    Astros

Guess what?  It looks like the Astros are going to be able to hit the ball this year!  First time in a long time.  Should be the best lineup we've ever had.

Now, the pitching, that's another story.  Unless a bunch of youngsters come through, we are in trouble.

Oh, well.  The offensive outburst should at least be fun to watch.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Who's new in the lineup?  Oh, that's right.  It's "steroids" Tejada!  Surprise

Astros now have a legitimate closer in Valverde.  If some of the kids step up as starters, might make the playoffs.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Astros win 5th in a row!  And finally, an offensive outburst.  This is more of what I expected.  Not to win it all, though it'd be nice, but to be competitve and fun to watch.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Ha. Good luck. Don't obtain the Braves curse and 1 in done in every playoff attempt except for 1 in a 15 yr span!

Astros continue winning ways and late inning comebacks!  1.5 out of 1st!

We, as Astros fans, are happy just to make the playoffs.  By beating the Braves the other year(2-3 years ago), we notched our first p layoff win.  Ever.  And then went on to beat the Cards and make our first WS appearance.  Overjoyed!  Better, of course, if we'd have won, but at least we were in the top 2 for a year!

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

Hey, I'm having a great time watching the Astros for a change. It is great knowing they have a real shot at coming from behind to win the game. Now if only they could get lucky with their pitching we might see some post-season games!

We have a shot at making the playoffs, but to advance we would need for some of the youngsters in the minors to step up.  But, that's OK.  I am really enjoying the ride, and the thoughts of:  "We are down by six heading into the eighth.  I think we'll win!

Yeah, exactly! In seasons past even a one or two run deficet in the eighth usually spelled doom for the Stro's, but this year they have some hitters! I do not expect much as far as the play-offs are concerned because of their pitching, but it sure is fun to watch them play with all that power!

Astros take 2 out of 3 from Cubs, back to 1.5 out of first.  Hitting on all cylinders.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.

You and I may be the only ones keeping up....lol........but I was impressed with those 2 victories because they were facing good pitchers. Their hitting was great and they seemed to get a lotta people on base. I hope they keep it up.

Oh, did you notice, Griz?  Chacon finally got a decision!  1-0, baby!

LOL....Yeah, I think he had like 9 starts before he got a decision, plus he pitched pretty good in some of those games. I think they won like 5 of them. Chacon may work out, but for some reason I can't make myself believe in him. I have to admit he has pitched well at times and deserved a few W's while he was in that 9 game stretch. I guess it's because I had not seen him before this season. Now if we could just get J.R. Towles swinging the bat properly! This team could get deadly.

Chacon is a # 4 starter.  He is okay, as long as you have 2-3 better starters.  At this time, we don't.  Better keep hitting.  Chacon left NY most likely because the Yanks are a pressure cooker.  He is doing fine, here.

Towles has loads of potential, and I'm pretty sure he will come around.  Bourn had 2-3 more hits tonight, so maybe he'll start hitting again, too.

OK, Ellis is a bit above average.
