I did not watch the game. Though I did expect LSU to win the game, and they did. So congrats to them. And what a college football season it has been. One of the bests ever in my opinion. First time a 2 loss team has ever won the National Title.

Even when LSU fell behind 10-0 early, I still knew they were going to blow out Ohio State.

I am not a fan of LSU, but I was pulling for them because I work with a bunch of Big Ten apologists who think that conference is soooo great.

Ohio State proved they didn't deserve to be on the field with either LSU this year or Florida last year.

Hey NCAA, how about a PLAYOFF SYSTEM finally, instead of throwing a team like Ohio State into a title game based on a subjective selection process?

I agree. In my opinion, big-time college football has NEVER had one national champion.

Before the BCS, the national champion was decided by Associated Press pollsters and/or other national news outlets.

What kind of a way is that to crown a national champ? Get a bunch of sports writers to VOTE on who is best? Lame, lame, lame, lame, lame!

The joke in the system is the rule where they keep thinking they have to put Ohio State in the game. The other joke in the system is allowing polls not computers decide it. Why? because the computer will use the same criteria week in and week out. It will not put conference affaliations ahead of teams, or allow alumni to help tehir own out(Herbstreit). With computer programs deciding what happened there would have been no OSU move up from 3 to 1 while Georgia went from 4 to 5. If the humans were out of the polls, I strongly believe USC or Georgia would have played LSU for the title. Anyone that would have had a problem with Georgia would have been right. The only game they could have had that would have made sense was USC vs SEC team. They took the media darlings and placed them in the game. So they got what they wanted. They just didn't get the 2 best teams.

I'm guessing that you are a big ten fan.(or pac-10)

LSU didn't win crap.  Until they beat Georgia, not to mention USC and WV, they haven't won anything.  Lame.(Needed at least one more).

Need I remind you that it was Georgia's fault for there not being a matchup with LSU in the SEC Championship game?  Maybe they should have worried about winning their own division within their conference before yapping about the National Championship game!  The only decent team WVU faced all year, and beat, was a team that chokes in bowl games = Oklahoma.  As for USC, their schedule ended-up being pretty much a joke once the season was over (the Pac10 kinda' fell apart at the end of the year).  I undoubtedly would have wanted to see them face LSU (a Pac10 team vs. a SEC team would have made it so much more interesting and worth watching)!  Don't get me wrong, I have always been in favor of a playoff (in which all these teams would have been in), but as for the current system, LSU won it.

Georgia = don't get BLOWN-OUT by Tennessee during the season

USC = don't lose to Stanford at home

WVU = don't lose to Pittsburgh, period

LSU = showed that if you did happen to lose, you do it in overtime and not regulation.

Glad they won but the ranking they received to be playing for the national title just proves that we need a play off system for the national title.
