Cardinals | Whisenhunt disappointed in Leinart

The East Valley Tribune reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he was disappointed in QB Matt Leinart after photos surfaced on the internet showing Leinart partying at his home with people partying in the background. One picture showed Leinart holding a beer bong while a female drank from the opposite end. Whisenhunt said Leinart called him and they spoke for awhile. "I reiterated to him the type of behavior that we expect at all times from our players. He understands that as well as the level of scrutiny that he's under because of who he is. It's being handled internally. I was disappointed but at the same time have no doubts about his commitment to this football team or his ability to lead it."

Doing beer bongs and and getting it all on film??? LOL Got to love his focus and determination after missing a season due to injury! :)

Sorry, but it is my opinion that most folks are way too "judge-mental" on the NFL players these days. It was only a couple of weeks ago I was doing the same thing, but I still think I am going to heaven. I am not for Pac -man coming here and I think Vick got some of what he deserved, but it seems we are looking for anything these days.

Those pics look like a good time!! I'd be right in there. But I'm also not making millions of dollars. With that comes expectations and a reputation to uphold. Not only to yourself, but your team and the league you represent. Sure drinking parties and chicks looks like a lot of fun, but some people should know better when they have an image to protect!

I understand what you mean by "judgemental". However, that guy is getting paid alot of money to put fans in the stadium. Its not the greatest message in the world to be caught doing some of the things he is doing. Doesn't appear he was breaking the law, but it makes you wonder if he gets the idea of being a leader of an NFL team. Up until now, the answer is no he doesn't get it. 2 years in, you at least hope that he needs to keep his nose clean.

Tony Romo went on vacation during a playoff bye week...did he catch grief? There are ways to do things if you have common sense about you. Kind of like letting someone walk around with a camera taking pictures of you partying. It is how alot of people get blackmailed. It shows a lack of foresight on his and his agents or handlers part. He is just not handling things the right way. If you are going to party somewhere, do it with your friends. It is not what he done, it is how he done it.

Matt is being paid millions of dollars to be the face of the franchise.  If he didn't want to accept this responsibility, he shouldn't have signed the contract.  What is wrong is that he's being paid to act like an adult and is acting like a teenager.  GROW UP, Matt.

Ha ha. All of these people who are really complaining are from the new school. These people  have no clue what it was like 15 years ago when football players actually had lives. And didn't have to worry about the armchair quarterbacking, Monday morning Gm'n, bloggers finding out about it.

I dont see the big deal about the pics. He wasn't doing anything wrong IMO. The press can make anything seem worse than it acually is.
