    Hambrick sentenced

Former running back Troy Hambrick, who once played for the Cowboys as well as several other teams, was charged with drug distributing and was sentenced to 5 years in prison.  He never worked out for us as Emmitt's replacement, but I hate to see any former players in trouble.  Hope he has learned his lesson and can live a productive life after getting out.

This guy and Goodrich, makes you wonder how much of a negative impact Q had on that 2000-2003 team.

Wha's sad is that I can't believe they thought Hambrick was going to be the next Emmitt Smith.  Parsmells let Emmitt go because he had so much faith in Hambrick.  Yet another bad personnel decision by man boobs.

Me... I just think Hambone is looking for attention.  Sorry to see it happen, but in the words of Barretta, "don't do the crime, if you can't do the time."  Your loyalty as Cowboy fans should take a back seat when it comes to something like this.  Even as great as Michael Irvin was, as a father, I was hoping they throw his butt in jail to make an example of him when he was all messed up on coke.  Remember, even "The Kitchen" Nate Newton did time on a drug charge.  Nobody should be above the law.

I couldn't stand Troy Hambrick.  I couldn't get over all the junk he talked about how he deserved to start over Emmitt Smith, then got his chance and fell flat on his face.  I remember the Raiders picking him up, then dumping him before he got picked up by the Cardinals where he backed up... Emmitt Smith...

Anyone remember Troy Hambrick in that 12-0 loss to New England back in 2003?  Yeesh.  I think he rushed for 3 yards that game.  I mostly remember him tripping over the yardlines before reaching the line of scrimmage.  I hear Troy's brother was a pain in the lockerroom and it was the reason the Cowboys dumped him and Kareem Larrimore.

All that being said, I hate seeing a guy get himself in this kind of trouble.  If he's guilty then he deserves to be punished for it.  Maybe he'll learn something from the whole deal.  It's sad to see someone with the talent to play in the NFL still resorting to something like this when the world is full of people who'd love to change places with him... even as a backup.  I don't think he committed crimes to get attention though.  I think it was about money and greed.  Isn't that why people deal drugs?
